Our history lives when it is shared. Every story told, every memory preserved, and every generation taught helps ensure that the contributions and experiences of African Americans in Bastrop County are never forgotten.

Hear firsthand one family’s legacy behind Texas’ Juneteenth Rodeos. Join Mayor Ishmael Harris for an intimate lunchtime conversation about his family’s deep connection to this important Texas tradition surrounded by dynamic photographs taken of Juneteenth Rodeos across Texas on loan from Humanities Texas

The program will be held in conjunction with Soul Circuit: Juneteenth Rodeos in Texas, featuring powerful photographs by Sarah Bird.
