Getting ready to share all the summer fun I've dug up in and around Bastrop County so far at the Bastrop Public Library tomorrow morning💥With kid-in-tow of course, because summer reading, right? and because that's just how we mommas fit in *all* the things!🌞

So swing in, swap a book, and swing by to take a look at my Summer Camp Guide, check into Coach Roger's Swim Program before June sessions start, and get a peek at LPLC's curriculum library progress while you're there!

Hope to see you🤗

Join the Friends at the Bastrop Public Library's Community Fair on Saturday, May 30 from 10 AM to noon. The Fair will be a great opportunity to learn about summer camps, classes, events and activities hosted by Bastrop community organizations.

We will be hosting a book swap (bring a book, take a book or browse) and also handing out entry forms for our annual bookmark design contest! See you there!

🔍Wednesday Resource🔎
As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to share what I know about a Smithville-local therapy resource:

Terri Lively provides individual and family psychotherapy for clients ages 13-plus. She offers telehealth options, works with your insurance if needed, and helps fill the gap we feel in therapeutic options for teens and families in our community.

🧘‍♀️Monday Mantra🧘‍♀️

You've made it to the finish line...or for some of you, almost!

And if you're like 👉this momma👈right now, you're holding a mix of relief, pride, and dash of "what now?" Transitions can feel messy, even when they're fun.

The mantra for the week? "We grow as we go."

Summer doesn't have to be perfect to be meaningful. Neither does the path that got you here. Enjoy these in-between days of planning what your "perfect summer" is gonna look like this year!

🔍Wednesday Resource🔎

Following Speech-Language Pathologist Day and continuing on with Better Hearing & Speech Month I want to point to Bastrop-local provider, Meredith Brown.

She has been offering pediatric speech therapy in Bastrop since 2018, and brings 14 years of experience to a practice that is woven together with parent partnership, joyful connection, and the belief that communication grows best in relationship.

Her work centers caregivers as essential partners, supporting children in building skills through trust, play and everyday moments.

She recently opened up her schedule a bit more, and I know her schedule is going to fill quickly - I recommend reaching out if you've been searching for a great speech therapist here locally!

🧘‍♀️Monday Mantra🧘‍♀️

Every child's voice is different. Some speak in bursts. Others in movement. Still others speak in time. And some need the right support before their voice feels like their own.

Today, Speech-Language Pathologist Day, we're cheering for the specialists and families helping children find their voice, in whatever form that takes.

Some words of encouragement for you through the week: "Connection is more important than perfection." The rest will come.

🔍Wednesday Resource🔎

It's Mental Health Awareness Month, and I'm thinking specifically about women's therapeutic support this morning.

Shining a spotlight on one of my favorite local practitioners, Hannah Burson. Her work is rooted in the idea that healing isn't only cognitive, it's embodied.

For those mommas in our community navigating stress, burnout, or big life transitions, she's a resource centered on meeting you where you are with care, presence, and attuned support, sometimes in ways beyond words.

"We get to choose what matters most."

Dear Moms, Cheers to you. Building lives. Creating thoughtful, intentional, and sometimes unconventional paths for your little humans. Find some time this week to *keep* celebrating YOU. You deserve it.

While there will always be a lot of voices telling you what this season should look like, remember this: Your family isn't a template. Your children aren't a checklist. And you 👏are not👏behind👏

Hope you had a happy Mother's Day weekend🌻

🌎Thursday in 3D🌏
Had an absolute blast hanging with Good Neighbors of Texas and chatting all things community, connection, and education in Bastrop 😊

We got into how The Lost Pines Learning Collective started, why building local support systems for families matters so much to me, and how we're working to connect parents with the resources, programs, and people they need so no one has to navigate the education journey alone.

Dreaming big out here in 3D this season! 🫶

🔍Wednesday Resource🔎
Continuing on with Teacher Appreciation Week, I wanted to share one more program program our public school educators are trying out for Bastrop middle school learners: BISD Virtual Learning Academy.

It's a pilot program for grades 6-8 that provides a more flexible option for Bastrop families exploring homeschool-style learning without fully stepping away from traditional systems. Weekly pacing, certified teacher support, and options for in-person extra curriculars.

Application period runs through May 15, and they are only accepting 200 students district-wide.

If you've been on the fence about homeschooling for your middle schooler, this might be a great chance to see how it works out!

🧘‍♀️Monday Mantra🧘‍♀️

From classroom to kitchen table (and everything in between), this one is for the teachers.

Repeat after me: "The work I do matters more than I can see."

The best teachers I know don't just deliver information. You notice. You adapt. You meet learners where they are, and help them believe they can go further.

This week, The Lost Pines Learning Collective is celebrating every educator shaping more than academics.

You're building confidence, curiosity, and connection every day. I see you. Don't you forget it!
