District 4 Spring Conference was held on Sunday in Greybull. Thanks to all who attended and for wearing purple to honor the Month of the Military Child.

Join us at the school for the Veterans Day ceremony. Also veterans be sure to stop by the Copper Corner Cafe in Basin for breakfast or lunch on November 11 provided by American Legion Auxiliary to say "thank you for your service!"

November 7 (Saturday) is Poppy Day in Basin. Watch for our Auxiliary ladies around town from 9:00 am to noon collecting donations and handing out red poppies. All money collected is used to support veterans locally and around Wyoming.

American Legion Auxiliary fall workshop in Casper over the weekend. President Robin challenged the various units to bring non-perishable food items for homeless and needy veterans. Our 3 units in District 4 stepped up and spent just over $500 and filled my car to the brim with food items. Almost no room left for us to get in the car. We had canned goods under feet and more boxes stacked on laps. These items were added to food brought from other units around the state (lots more added after this photo). Great weekend with friends and learning about new suggestions for projects for veterans, youth and patriotism.

Military appreciation day at Basin High School football game today. The coin toss was done by Basin High School graduate and WWII veteran Johnny Gibler. The team ran onto the field carrying flags of the various branches of the service. Post presented the "colors" and Auxiliary had a table with poppies and their veteran su***de awareness banner.

Are you eligible to join the American Legion Auxiliary? If yes but you don't want to be an active member. That's fine. Dues help support our various activities. Of course we are always looking for members who want to participate as well. Any questions, let us know.

Memorial Day ceremony in Basin. Thank you to all those who attended to honor those who gave their all. American Legion Post 29 presented honors and the Auxiliary presented wreaths in honor of the various conflicts. Our Boys State and Girls State delegates read the poem In Flanders Fields.

What a great meeting today. Our unit previously met at the home of one of our members. She recently moved into the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin so we moved with her. There are 22 veterans at WRC so we tasked our member to get to know them. She invited the veterans to our meeting today and we had a wonderful time getting to know a few of them and telling them about what we do. In February we're providing them with root beer floats and hope to get some of our Post members to join us and spend time with these veterans.
