I have signed our youth up to serve at St Joseph Diner 10/5. Looking for 2 adult chaperones who are safe environment trained or willing to be prior to that date and comfortable driving and serving lunch to those in need from 11-1 on that Monday. If you have a child or children 7 years or up they could also attend. Need 10 total volunteers and i have about 6 students signed up.

Looking for 6th-8th grade parents willing to help with a couple of youth activities this year. You’d need to safe environment train and be willing to chaperone/help with a few activities. Please let me know if you’re a parent of a child that age or a volunteer interested in jr high youth. Steubenville South is offering a youth retreat 12/5. This would be a possible activity if we can get some parents involved.

Just a reminder that high school ccd meets weekly at 6:30. No cost and we have some great things planned for all grades 9th-12th. We ask that parents would encourage confirmed students to come and continue to grow in faith.

Jr High and High School CCD starts next Wednesday 8/19/26 at 6:30 pm in church! Parents and 7-12th grade students are invited to attend. We welcome John Listi as our speaker and music leader!

John was born and raised in Abbeville, LA, John grew up in a home centered around Jesus Christ, where he learned the power of prayer, mercy, and freedom. He attended Mt. Carmel and Vermilion Catholic before completing his undergraduate studies at LSU, where he was heavily involved in campus ministry—leading praise and worship, directing retreats, and developing a passion for sharing the Gospel.

Over the past 30 years, John has been active in various ministry capacities within the Church, including youth ministry, high school campus ministry, young adult ministry, directing men's retreats, and serving as the director of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for the Diocese of Lafayette. He remains deeply passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. John currently lives in Abbeville with his family and serves as the Director of Evangelization and Discipleship at his home parish, St. Mary Magdalen.
