What a BEAUTIFUL way to spend Saturday morning.
Basehor’s Earth Day sponsored by Basehor Community Volunteers was a success and our volunteers repeatedly told us “our streets are cleaner than ever!” In past, volunteers collected possibly four times more.
Report card: A!
That speaks highly of our awesome folks with the City of Basehor 🌞
About 115 Basehor Community Volunteers were “talking trash”, cleaning up the streets (and ditches…). First place went to a joyous BLHS duo who brought in the most trash (including a bumper)off of Wolf Creek Parkway (they focused on the tree line and yardage on Wolf Creek near Dollar Tree)🌍 our volunteers spread out all over town.
Unusual finds like tires (not flat either!); a big water/squirt gun; baseball cards; & a can of “whipped cream”.
One of our volunteers found a $ dollar 🌍
In memory of local founder & former Gold Pride leader Charles Wilderson, his son and family members also teamed up to help. 🌎
Basehor’s Earth Day Coordinator Larry Reynolds would like to thank the following donors:
Brothers Disposal (dumpster); Basehor VFW breakfast burritos & curbside service picking up and hauling trash bags; City of Basehor (trash bags, support); Bomgaars (more bags); Lynnmark Mercantile (vouchers); (donut holes); BL USD 458 District Office Media Support & BLHS admin- (sports foyer use);bottled water; Basehor-Linwood Kiwanis. To all who helped keep our roadways litter free, & spread kindness (including the GREEN TEAM) thank YOU 🥰
