A dedicated Rotarian for 28 years and a retired IT professional, Wayne's Rotary journey began by following in the footsteps of his father-in-law, a proud 50-year Rotarian. Inspired by that legacy of service, Wayne felt called to get involved, strengthen his community, and support Rotary's mission around the world.

For Wayne, Rotary is guided by one simple principle: the Four-Way Test.

"Just follow the Four-Way Test in all that you do. The world would be a better place if everyone applied it to their life."

One of Wayne's favorite Rotary traditions is organizing and managing the club's annual Wild Game Dinner, a signature fundraising event that brings people together while supporting meaningful community projects.

As we embark on a year to Create Lasting Impact, we're proud to have Wayne serving as part of our District 6890 Flight Crew.

What a great evening at the Bartow Rotary Banquet last Thursday night. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate another successful year of service, fellowship, and impact in our community.

Congratulations to our award recipients and thank you to everyone who helped make the evening special. Rotary continues to make a difference because of the dedication and generosity of our members. Looking forward to the year ahead and all that we will accomplish together.

The Bartow Rotary Club was honored to recognize two outstanding individuals whose service and leadership have made a lasting impact on our community.

Gerald Tucker was presented with the Medal of Honor Award in recognition of his exceptional community service beyond his professional responsibilities. Gerald’s unwavering dedication to our community and his tireless efforts in the fight against cancer have touched countless lives and exemplify Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self.

Jason Hargrove was presented with the Medal of Merit Award in recognition of his exemplary community service through his profession. As Director of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts for the City of Bartow, Jason has demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through his leadership and service.

Bartow Rotary Club gave out its High School Scholarships today to 5 students. Included was the Gibson-Helmick-Vetter Scholarship to Richa Patel who is the Bartow IB Valedictorian. Scholarship checks also went to Niayanna Thigpen, Cameron Kesler, Emily Byers and Isabelle Witmer.

Congratulations to these students! We wish them the very best in all of their future endeavors. May the next chapter be filled with success, happiness, and endless opportunities.
