Hope House Florida is stepping into a new season 🌿
After much prayer and planning, we are expanding from a residential maternity home into a resource center model to serve parenting moms ages 15 to 21, walking with them until age 25.

Through the process of partnering with Hope House Colorado—an incredible nonprofit who has faithfully served teen moms and children for 23+ years—we will gain access to proven programming that helps teen moms move toward stability and self sufficiency. Our heart remains the same: empowering young moms with tangible resources, life skills, education support, mental health services, spiritual formation and long term pathways to independence.

This new model will allow us to serve 200 to 300 moms each year right here in Polk County.

Our name is not changing. Our board remains local and autonomous. What is changing is our capacity to serve more young women when they are ready to commit to a brighter future for themselves and their children.

In the coming months:

• We will hire a new Executive Director.

• We will seek a new permanent facility to support this expanded vision.

• Our current Bartow property will be placed on the market, with proceeds directed toward operating Hope House Florida in this next chapter.

A season of reflection. A step toward greater impact. ❤️

As we look back with gratitude on all God has done through Hope House, we’re also looking ahead with intention. We are thoughtfully exploring a new model that allows us to reach more young mothers, right where they are, with the long-term support, mentorship, and resources they need to build stable, self-sufficient futures for themselves and their children.

This season of transition is rooted in prayer, wisdom, and a deep love for the young moms in our community. We’re grateful for every supporter who has walked alongside us and invite you to continue with us as we discern what’s next.

This holiday season we are grateful to God for the opportunity to serve eight mothers and six babies—eight women that have found loving support and safety to begin their healing journeys.

Each heart in this jar represents the life of a precious baby who began their life at Hope House. But even more so, it represents a woman who had the boldness and courage to seek help. A woman who, despite her hard past and difficult circumstances, boldly chose life for her unborn baby.

This Giving Tuesday, we ask you to prayerfully consider that every donation to our organization goes toward serving that woman who just discovered she is pregnant for the first time, and who may be homeless, without money and very scared. Every gift makes it possible to bring her into a home filled with love and support.

There is no place in Central Florida like Hope House, and we are committed to offering hope and healing to as many women and children as possible. Thank you for praying, for supporting us and for your gifts.

We want to share an important update regarding Hope House leadership. After years of exceptional service, our Executive Director Tara Johnson has chosen to step down to focus on personal matters. We wholeheartedly thank her for her invaluable contributions to our mission of supporting and equipping first-time mothers and their babies.

Moving forward with confidence and with needs of our residents and staff at the forefront, we’re pleased to announce that Resident Director Emily Dickson will serve as Interim Executive Director.

Additionally, social worker Kayla Figueroa will continue to provide top-notch support to our clients on their journeys toward independence and thriving.

Together, we will forge ahead, dedicated to serving every mom, every baby, every day. Thank you for your ongoing support and your prayers for Hope House.
