The journey to ? A long, worthwhile adventure that starts with a single step.
-The first campout.
-The first time reading the and (then, we memorize these).
-The first service project.
-The first (or the Bobcat Badge for Cub Scouts grown to Eagle).
-The first time leading a patrol.
-The first service project.
…And every single moment a Scout realizes: “Hey, I can do hard things! I’m stronger than I think!”
New Harris Poll research shows those moments matter long after youth membership in ends. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle – and Eagle Scouts report higher purpose, stronger well-being, more leadership experience and greater civic engagement than non-Scouts.
This study isn’t simply data or stats – it represents real young people, real families, real changed lives and real good things when it comes to both the short-term and long-term effects of becoming an Eagle Scout. The study also compares youth involved in Scouting versus those outside of it.
