Scholarship opening change!

Important update: Our scholarship window now opens Dec. 1!

A recent Foundation board decision moved the opening of our scholarship application window from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1.

The decision was a response to feedback from many parents who can't get needed paperwork such as transcripts until schools provide them in December. This led to anxiety from students and parents that they were applying late.

The new window, Dec. 1 to Jan. 31, reflects the realistic schedule of schools and parents to gather the materials they need before applying.

Mark your calendars and apply in December and January at CherokeeNationFoundation.org!

FAFSA Quick tip!

FAFSA Friday Quick Tip: Be Prepared

Make sure that you and your contributors have created your studentaid.gov username and password, which you’ll use to complete the FAFSA online.

And while data sharing has streamlined the process and made it possible for some information to be automatically filled into your form, it’s good to have important documents on hand, such as your Social Security number, government-issued identification document, tax returns from 2025, and current bank statements.
