Tallgrass Doll Club, OK A doll club affiliated with UFDC promoting knowledge, care and promotion of doll collecting. We accept monetary donations and estate doll collections.

We offer a raffle on World Doll Day each year. Occasionally, members may be post information about items to buy or sell. Proceeds from raffles, luncheons, exhibits or shows are donated, over and above financing for club activities and dues paid to UFDC.

My daughter and granddaughter tell me dolls are "creepy".
I think the reason some people feel that way is the same reason that I like them.
They are "creepy" because they appear so life like.
- Even those with exaggerated features.

> They were not marked or tagged; the clothes were tagged.
> It would be difficult to find a rag/cloth/textile doll from 90 years ago in good condition.
> Without clothes, no one would know the name of the doll or who made it.
> Some were animals, some were celebrities and even famous personalities.
> A few of the names: Suzy & Bobby Q - The Quints - McGuffy Anna - Little Women - Pitty Pat - Lively Cherub - So Little Baby - American Tot - Uncle Wiggily - Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy - Baby Shaver and many more.

How fun it is to have found that doll;
So far its been only a picture.
To think it was on that list
And for a price I thought I could afford.

The mailman seems to be moving slower
Until the package finally arrives.
The tape doesn't want to break cut or tear,
No matter how hard I try.

After spilling the tissue and newspaper to the floor,
The large shape is now within my hands.
Oh, joy! What pictures cannot show;
This doll has such personality.

No friend or neighbor can understand
The excitement I now feel.
To have found this doll, so long sought;
Which other can I now start tracking?
