Bartlesville Trails at Lake Hudson

Bartlesville Trails at Lake Hudson Volunteer built single track MTB and hiking trails at Lake Hudson, northwest of Bartlesville. The trailhead is at the east parking lot. Follow the signs.

Bartlesville Trails at Lake Hudson are mostly single track mountain bike trails at Lake Hudson, located 5 miles northwest of Bartlesville, OK. Take the right fork in the road just after the gate as you enter the park. The trails are also good for hiking and trail running. The initial .10 mile from the trailhead is using the dirt road before entering the woods past the archery range. For this secti

on, please stay on the dirt road and do not enter the archery range area. The GPS coordinates for the trailhead are:
N 36°48.333’
W096°01.867’

An easy alternative for the first .6 mile of the trails is to take the dirt road around to the creek. You can then pick up the trails past the creek. These are volunteer built trails so please help keep the area clear of trash. Feel free to post your pictures and let us know if you are interested in volunteering to help! Bartlesville Trails at Lake Hudson is part of a 501(c)(3) organization called Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship (OEF) which is the Oklahoma chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA). Bartlesville Trails will be funded primarily through donations to OEF. All donations to OEF are tax-deductible. If you would like to make a donation, go to https://www.okearthbike.com/ and scroll down to the bottom to see the Donate via PayPal button. You will have the option to donate using PayPal or a debit/credit card. Be sure to indicate in the drop down that the donation is for Bartlesville (Lake Hudson).

WORKDAY STILL ON SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY MORNING

We are hoping the rain holds off tomorrow morning for our workday. Otherwise, we will work as long as the rain allows assuming no lightening. Even if we don’t get four hours of work, we hope to get something done. The more volunteers we have, the more we can get done in the time we have.

8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Meet at the eastside trailhead
Water will be available
Pizza for lunch afterwards (if not raining)

Bring tools for trimming grass and small tree removal from the trail and loppers for undergrowth.

If we need to cancel, we will post something tomorrow morning.

URGENT – VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!!

The Bartlesville Trails are built and maintained by volunteers. If you have visited the trails and enjoyed them then we need your help maintaining them.

Two of our active volunteers are currently unavailable due to medical reasons. Due to recent rains, the trails are quickly becoming overgrown. Based on past experience, we know we need to stay on top of trimming the trails before they become unusable.

Volunteers have two options to help. You can adopt a trail to keep it trimmed. This allows you to work at your own pace and schedule. You can choose which trail to adopt and notify us. Reach out to us for further information. Another option is to come out on our trail workdays that are scheduled periodically during the summer. The first one will be in two weeks.

We are scheduling the first workday of the summer for Saturday, June 6th which is National Trails Day. On this day, not only is it for going out and enjoying local trails but it is also a time to get together to maintain those trails.

SATURDAY, JUNE 6TH
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

MEET AT THE EAST TRAILHEAD
PIZZA WILL BE PROVIDED AFTERWARDS
WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE

Bring your w**d eaters and any other equipment for trimming!! If you want to help but don’t have the equipment, we have a w**d eater and string mower available.

Be sure to spray yourselves for ticks!!

It’s been four years since the first group of volunteers started work on the Bartlesville Trails! Thanks to our numerous volunteers hard work since then, we now have 10 miles of trails on the east side and over four miles on the west side. 🎉🙌

In addition, we have trailhead signs on each side which were paid for with donations.

Our followers have grown from a few dozen to over 1650. Thanks for taking an interest in the Bartlesville Trails and continue sharing with your friends. Let’s see that number grow even more!

⚠️ATTENTION - EAST SIDE TRAILS CLOSED SAT & SUN THIS WEEKEND - MAY 23RD & 24TH

There are periods each summer when the east side trails are closed due to archery tournaments. We have been informed that the Bartlesville Archery Club will be hosting an ASA qualifier Saturday & Sunday this weekend (May 23rd & 24th). The trails will be CLOSED on the EAST side on those dates.

⚠️FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE, IT IS CRITICAL THAT TRAIL USERS STAY OFF THE EAST SIDE TRAILS DURING THE ARCHERY TOURNAMENT.

The WEST side trails will be available those dates weather permitting.

Once the tournament has concluded on the afternoon of the 24th, the east side trails will be opened.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. We will post a reminder of the trail closing as we get closer to the weekend.
