Yesterday 6/7/26 at 2:30 PM Barry fire was paged out for a grass fire in the area of 744 and 1126. Upon arrival Barry found approximately 5 acres with heavy fuel and high winds moving slowly with heavy smoke Barry vfd Chief requested Blooming Grove vfd with a tanker and brush truck, Retreat vfd with a brush truck and side by side, and Corbet oak valley vfd with a brush truck. Due to the underlying wet soil, the fire was unable to be reached by truck. Multiple trucks became stuck and had to attack the fire by Hand with hand tools and backpack water packs. Due to the hard work of all involved no homes were threatened or lost. Please be mindful when you burn and please do not leave burns unattended, just because the dirt wet doesn’t mean the grass on top is.. Barry Vfd as well as all other responding Vfd’s rely on funding from fundraisers communities support.

Outdoor Warning Siren Test Today

Wednesday, June 3, 2026

Navarro County will conduct its monthly outdoor warning siren test at approximately 1:30 PM today, weather permitting, for the cities of Rice, Richland, Blooming Grove, Barry, Emhouse, and Kerens. The City of Corsicana will also be conducting their OWS test during this same time.

This monthly testing helps ensure the outdoor warning siren systems are working properly.

Remember: Outdoor warning sirens are designed for people outdoors, and you may not hear them indoors. Every home and business should have multiple ways to receive warnings, including a NOAA Weather Radio All-Hazards.

Sign up for automated weather alerts through the Navarro County / City of Corsicana Alert Notification System:
