Here’s what’s happening this week at River & Root! ☀️

We’re taking a little break, so we’ll be closed Tuesday, 9/1 – Thursday, 9/3. But don’t worry, we’re still running Grandparents & Grandlittles as scheduled on 9/2, as well as Tiny Milestones on 9/3.

We can’t wait to welcome you & your littles back on Friday, 9/4! 🫶 And while we’re closed, we’re still busy behind the scenes because our Fall Class Schedule will be dropping this week! Keep an eye out— so much fun planned for the season ahead! 🍂

Reserve your spot for Grandparents & Grandlittles Morning on September 2nd! 🫶

Join us for a relaxed morning of connection, indoor play, and community with other grandparents who are spending these sweet early years caring for and making memories with the next generation.

This is special open play session reserved just for grandparents and their grandlittles (ages 0–4) on the first Wednesday of every month.

📅 Wednesday, 9/2 (1st Wednesday of each month)
⏰ 9–11 AM

Come play outside!!! ☀️ We’re soaking in these last few weeks (days?!) of summer, which means spending loads of time outside + water play as much as possible!

What can you expect when you book an Outdoor Open Play session? Our outdoor play space will be fully set up with a variety of nature-inspired play invitations, including our mud kitchen, building zone, sensory play areas, gross motor play, and other seasonal outdoor activities.

Outside is set up with plenty of shaded seating, umbrellas, and picnic tables. Families are welcome to enjoy a snack or lunch outside during their visit (pro-tip: we had a family get Wawa delivered right over the fence— it was amazing). You’ll also have access to our back air conditioned area and bathroom for cooling off as needed.

💦 Water play and splash pad days are offered on select outdoor play days when temperatures are above 75 degrees.

When water play is available:
•We’ll mark it on our weekly Instagram calendar with a splash symbol. 💦
•The weekly calendar will be saved to our story highlights for easy viewing.
•Water play may include the splash pad, water tables, pouring stations, or other water-based play invitations.
•Outdoor play and water play are always weather-dependent.

Outdoor-Only Open Play is generally offered:
•Monday through Friday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
•Wednesday and Friday evenings (join our Pizza + Popsicles on the Porch Playdate and add pizza onto your booking!🍕): 4:30–6:30 PM
•Saturday and Sunday mornings: 9:00–11:00 AM

We reached a very special milestone this week— 100 celebrations hosted in our space! 🎉🎉🎉

That’s 101 birthday celebrations for little ones + 1 oh-so-sweet baby sprinkle. We’re incredibly grateful to every family who has trusted us with such meaningful moments. 🤍

River & Root was built by moms who are living through the same stages of life as the families we serve. We know just how much work goes into celebrating your child and we believe you deserve to enjoy the day too.

That’s why we’ve created birthday parties that are designed to feel beautiful, stress-free, and thoughtfully planned from start to finish. ✨

We also offer something truly unique for our area: indoor and outdoor party options. During the spring, summer and fall months, families can enjoy our outdoor play area, lawn, and gathering spaces while still having access to our beautiful indoor space. When you book a party at River & Root, you have private use of the entire property.

This weekly evening playdate was created for moms who don’t usually have the chance to attend daytime meetups but are still looking for connection and community. We all need mom friends!!
