One of our goals at River & Root has always been to create a space that grows with the seasons families are in.

Lately, that’s looked like slower mornings, more flexibility in our schedule, outdoor play, evening events on the lawn, and finding new ways to make the space work for families during the warmer months.

As we head into June, we’re feeling really grateful for this community and excited for everything ahead. Thank you for continuing to grow alongside us.

We’re hosting our first After-Hours Moms Playdate tomorrow!!! 🫶

Making mom friends can feel especially hard when your weekdays are filled with work, busy schedules, daycare pickup, nanny handoffs, or the rush of everyday life.

This weekly evening playdate was created for moms who don’t usually have the chance to attend daytime meetups but are still looking for connection and community. We all need mom friends!!

📅 Wednesdays, starting 6/3

As we head into the summer months, we know schedules start to shift for many families.

At River & Root, our open play sessions are designed to offer flexibility throughout the day, whether you’re stopping in between activities or building your day around a visit.

With a mix of morning, midday, and afternoon options, each session carries a slightly different pace, allowing families to choose what best fits their routine. As the season changes, our goal remains the same: to provide a space where children can play freely and families can settle into a rhythm that works for them.

Join us this Friday as we kick off a new favorite tradition… Pizza & Popsicles on the Porch!🍕

Little ones can enjoy play on the lawn while families relax with music, bubbles, and a laid-back summer evening. Plus, every child will receive a free popsicle on the house!

Families are welcome to add pizza to their registration, bring their own dinner, or have food delivered from a favorite local spot through Grubhub, Uber Eats, or takeout. Come as you are, stay as long as you’d like during the play window, and make Friday nights at River & Root part of your family’s summer rhythm.

Introducing the Stay-at-Home Moms Playdate!!! 🫶

Designed for moms and caregivers with children ages 0–4 who are home with their little ones during the week. This relaxed weekly gathering offers little ones the opportunity to play and explore while grown-ups have a chance to connect naturally, chat, and build meaningful community. No awkward networking, no pressure, just a welcoming space to meet other local moms in a similar season.

🐚✨ Under the Sea Shell-ebration ✨🐚

We’re diving into a magical morning of ocean-inspired play at River & Root next Sunday, May 31 from 9 AM–12 PM!

We’re so excited to welcome a special princess guest, the Little Mermaid for a visit! She’ll be joining us for sweet photo opportunities, princess-led songs and dances, a storytime, and a little under-the-sea magic throughout the morning.

Little ones will also enjoy:
🐠 Under-the-sea sensory play
💦 Outdoor water play
🎨 Sea-inspired crafts
🫧 Bubbles
🐚 Shells, scooping, pouring, and ocean-themed fun
🌿 Time to explore our outdoor play area

To make sure everyone has a lovely experience, we’ll be capping this event at a smaller group, so snag your tickets before they’re gone!

We’ve recently introduced outdoor play as part of our open play sessions when the weather allows.

Families can now spend time indoors, followed by time outside in our newly designed outdoor space. It’s been a nice way to shift the pace of a visit and give children a different environment to explore.

Outdoor play will be available on days with mild temperatures and clear weather, and we’ll continue to share updates each week on social media, including any closures or schedule changes.

It’s hard to believe our very first spring class series at River & Root is coming to an end this week! 🥹🤍

Watching this space go from construction dust and big dreams… to birthday parties, community events, music classes, messy art, sensory play, movement, language learning, and tiny friendships has been so incredibly special.

This classroom once existed only as an idea. And now, it’s become a place where little ones learn, families connect, celebrations are shared, and community is growing 🌿

If you haven’t had a chance to join us for a class yet, there’s still time!
