Lee Wulff Trout Unlimited Welcome to the Lee Wulff Chapter of Trout Unlimited. We meet on Zoom the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM.

Our monthly meetings include social time and a casual dinner, followed by a presentation by a guest speaker. Speakers include fly-fishing expert guides, authors, aquatic entomology and invasive species specialists, our own talented members and many others. We offer group outings to the Wisconsin Driftless area, The AuSable River in Grayling Michigan, and the Pere Marquette River in Michigan, and p

articipate with Wisconsin area TU chapters to help with conservation projects and stream restorations. Our volunteer members work with local schools to teach Trout in the Classroom as well as our youth program. We provide weekly fly tying sessions at Cabela’s, Hoffman Estates. We welcome women fly fishers, and we elected our first woman president this past year! Please come and join us in a casual, friendly and welcoming setting.

It’s so much more than just a stamp. As trout anglers in Wisconsin, this is our legacy, our downpayment on better trout habitat for future generations. We all pitch in a little bit and enjoy the benefits of all the great work being done to improve our trout fisheries here in Wisconsin.

But where does the money go? By law, it can only be spent on inland trout habitat projects and trout management. Let’s break it down (per the latest Trout Stamp Expenditure Report:
83.4% - trout habitat projects
13.4% - beaver management on Coldwater streams
2.7% - cold water fish passage projects
0.3% - program administration
0.2% - trout habitat equipment

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau reports that trout stamp revenues have lost purchasing power in recent years amid high inflation.

Bills introduced this week in the Legislature would make a $6 inflation adjustment to the Inland Trout Stamp (Thank you to bill Authors Sen. Rachael Cabral-Guevara and Rep. Duke Tucker!)

Use the link in our bio to ask your legislators to support this investment by anglers in our cold water fisheries.

ACTION ALERT Jan 5th deadline! On November 17, 2025, the U.S. EPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (“the Agencies”) jointly announced a proposed rule to dramatically restrict which bodies of water are protected by the safeguards of the Clean Water Act. The new proposal would substantially weaken the Clean Water Act, one of the Nation’s most effective natural resource laws. Opportunity for public comment on this new proposal is now open. The comment period will close on Monday, January 5th at 11:59p Eastern. Click link below to learn more easily submit a comment…

It only takes a minute to stand up for clean water and healthy fisheries.
