Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week: May 3-7

Help the PTO celebrate our amazing BMS teachers, staff, and administrators during Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week!

Please donate gift cards from local businesses for a raffle for all faculty and staff. Gift cards should be turned in to the box set up in the BMS office by this Friday 4/30.

Please send a picture of your BMS student holding a “thank you” sign to be displayed on the monitors in the school throughout the week by Sunday 5/2. Photos can be uploaded to this Dropbox.

Please stop by BMS this weekend and leave a positive note of appreciation in sidewalk chalk for faculty and staff to greet them near the school entrances on Monday morning.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Monday: Candy treat bags for all faculty & staff provided by the PTO
Tuesday: , students wear red in support of National Teachers’ Day
Wednesday: Parents & students say thank you to teachers, staff, administrators through notes, e-mails or kind words
Thursday: Students bring a flower in for teachers, staff, & administrators
Friday: Cookies for all faculty & staff provided by the PTO

Barrington Middle School is ready to return to full in-person learning on April 26. However, an important component to the reopening of our secondary schools is the supervision of our students during their lunch periods. We need a total of 6 lunch monitors to help us achieve this goal. Currently, 3 individuals have applied. The Scholastic Book Fair is almost here! We will be running a virtual book fair this year, meaning all sales will be conducted thru the BMS Scholastic Book Fair page and the books will be shipped directly to your home. We’ll have over 6,000 titles from which to choose, including books for younger children. For book-only orders totaling $25 or more, shipping is free!

The BMS PTO Directory and Membership site is now open.

To join the BMS PTO:
• Go to barringtonmiddlepto.org
• Click on “JOIN US BECOME A PTO MEMBER”
• Follow the prompts in the BMS Store to purchase membership
*$20 per family

To add your information to the BMS PTO Directory*:
• Go to barringtonmiddlepto.org
• Click on “Add your name to the BMS directory” and please use
the password: BMS2020 (case sensitive)
• You will be asked to put in your name and email address and
choose a password then check the “terms of use” checkbox.
• Click on “Create a new family unit”. (Unless you see someone
from your household already registered – then select that
household).
• Fill out the form with your Contact Info and Household Info.
Once you have entered all your information, hit SAVE. Note:
DO NOT PRESS CONTINUE.
• Expand the “Family info” section and click “Add a Child”. Here
you can enter your child’s first and last name and select your
child’s grade and classroom. You can leave email blank; then
click “SAVE CONTACT” at the top.
• Repeat step 9 for any additional children.
• When finished adding all children, select “SAVE” and then
“CONTINUE”.

*6th Grader Directory information did not transfer from HMS and will need to be re-entered
