Barrington's Department of Public Works and Green Team are planting shade trees this fall!!! 🌳 There are countless benefits to trees! Trees clean our air and water, provide habitat for wildlife, connect communities, and support our health and well-being.

We're looking for residents who would like to have a tree planted in front of their home in the park strip. If that's you, please complete the following form by 10/19/26: https://forms.gle/fAAqtejtF2gVuUKn7

Printed forms are also available in the Tax Office of the Barrington Municipal Building (229 Trenton Ave).

FREE PAPER SHREDDING EVENT FOR RESIDENTS: Keep your information confidential and protect yourself from identify theft. You can even drop off your already shredded paper to keep it out of landfill. 📄🗑♻

Municipal Building Parking Lot
The Shred-It truck will be on site to shred sensitive documents for residents— no businesses.

Did you know shredded paper is NOT recyclable through curbside collection?? The fibers are too short and gunk up recycling equipment. After this event, the shredded paper is taken to a secure facility, bundled and recycled into paper products.

Volunteers needed! The Green Team will be planting at the Avon Pollinator Garden this afternoon at 3:30PM. Kids welcome! 🌼🌿🦋🐝

Supplies: We have gloves (sizes for adults and kiddos) and small hand tools available to borrow. Volunteers should bring water and are welcome to bring their own gardening gloves, knee pads, and/or tools.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!! Pre-ordered plant pick up and the Extras Sale is happening Saturday, 9/26, 8AM-10AM, at the Barrington Public Works Complex.
🌱 Address: 100 Reamer Drive, Barrington, NJ 08007 (due to weather we will be inside the building to the left, see photo)
🌱Extras Sale: We have more plants available!!! 2" plugs. First come first served. You'll be able to purchase individual plants for $2.50 each. Cash only.

What to know:
▪️There is plenty of parking at the Public Works Complex.
▪️Pull up to the gate and a volunteer will let you in.
▪️When exiting, pull up close to the gate. There is a sensor and the gate will open automatically.
▪️Please note: we will be in a warehouse and the complex is an active work zone. If you plan to bring children, they must be closely supervised for their safety.
