The complicated project has a bunch of project stakeholders and partners from Barre City of Barre, VT - City Government, State of Vermont, Federal Government, the property owner and support staff, all helping to move the project forward. The day has come! The City of Barre, VT - City Government took ownership of the property located at 143 No Main Street today after a successful fundraising campaign spearheaded by BADC President, Steve Mackenzie, and Board members. Representing BADC at the closing included Board members Steve Mackenzie, Sarah Field, Robert Lord, and Karl Rinker. Representing the City included Mayor Thom Lauzon and Treasurer, Carol Dawes.

With site control achieved of this 16,000 square foot parcel, the City can move forward with the remaining tasks to get this property cleaned up and prepared for redevelopment to better serve the community and increase the grand list. We look forward to continue working with the City during the next phase of this project!
