Many thanks to my neighbor who helped get 2 of the pig houses and the hay feeder in place! Rubber mats and shavings are in and the gang is already checking them out. Once I get bigger gates on the other 2 pens, we'll get the last 2 houses in place.

A few hard losses over the past month. Roo the blind rooster passed, then we lost Rowan to cancer and Boomer to laryngeal paralysis.😔 It's been a little rough to say the least and still adjusting to the new norm around here.

Hoping everyone had a great and safe 4th of July 🎊🎉! Some good and bad news around here...but we'll stick with the good for now!

This lucky turtle 🐢 definitely had a great weekend! Last August while cleaning out the donkey paddock, I found him buried in a pile against the fence line. The poor thing was totally emaciated. Thanks to , this lucky turtle made a full recovery, and after almost a year in care, was released this weekend at a pond near here. I was happy to be able to attend the big event....and he was definitely happy to finally be free again! 🩷😍🐢

What an incredible job by Dominic and Troop 22! 🐷❤️

Thanks to their hard work, our sanctuary now has four brand-new pig houses and a much-needed hay feeder for our residents.

Dominic completed this project as his Eagle Scout Service Project. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout requires planning, developing, and leading a service project that benefits the community—and Dominic did just that. From fundraising and organizing the project to leading the construction, he managed every step of the process.

Just over a week ago, Dominic, his friend Brandon, and Brandon's dad delivered the completed pig houses to the sanctuary. We can't wait to get them set up in the pens where they'll provide much-needed shelter for our pigs.

This was a tremendous undertaking that required countless hours of planning and hard work. We are incredibly grateful that Dominic chose our sanctuary for his Eagle Scout project. His dedication, leadership, and generosity will have a lasting impact on the animals in our care.

Congratulations on earning this well-deserved achievement, Dominic! Thank you to you, Brandon, Brandon's dad, and everyone from Troop 22 who helped make this project a reality. Your kindness and support mean the world to us! 🩷

Great big shout out to my young neighbor Michael for taking care of what little lawn I have left! 😂 He even mowed paths down to the wildlife pens. 🙌🏻. You rock Michael!!

Little puff ball found on the side of the road, soaking wet and crying, after some flooding torrential rains came through 🥺 Warmed up and eating well and will look for someone who has friends he can join soon.🩷🩷🦨

Baby Storm and Delilah! These two have been BFF's since they were babies, and now her baby brother is getting to know Storm and the rest of the gang. Freya seems particularly smitten with him. 😍

Delilah has a beautiful love and respect for her animal friends and the feeling is obviously mutual. 🥰 I'm sure little Jacob will learn the same love and kindness for other creatures from his wonderful parents and big sister.....and plenty of visits with his new buddies. 🩷🩷🩷

Our supporters have been incredibly generous and supportive, and today we'd like to shine a spotlight on another wonderful animal nonprofit in our community that could use your support.

Nurture Nest Wildlife Rehabilitation in Barre is a newly licensed wildlife rehabilitation organization that is now fully operational and providing care to injured and orphaned wildlife. Having started out as a wildlife rehabilitator myself, I know firsthand the challenges that come with building a program and obtaining the resources needed to help animals in need.

Over the past few years, while focusing on our farm sanctuary, I have primarily dedicated my rehabilitation efforts to orphaned fawns. With many wildlife rehabilitators located farther away, Nurture Nest Wildlife Rehabilitation will likely become a vital resource for our area, caring for many of the mammals that need assistance. In fact, they recently stepped in to help by taking in a litter of raccoon kits from us, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.

We hope some of our followers will consider supporting Nurture Nest Wildlife Rehabilitation as they continue their important work. Whether through donations, supplies, volunteering, or simply sharing their mission, every bit of support helps them provide lifesaving care to local wildlife.

Baby raccoon season has arrived, and Nurture Nest Wildlife Rehabilitation is currently caring for a growing number of orphaned kits.

These babies aren't injured—they've simply lost their mothers and now depend on us for every feeding, every meal, and every step of their development until they are old enough to return to the wild.

With several hungry mouths to feed around the clock, we're going through formula and food supplies faster than ever. If you'd like to help, we're asking for donations of specific formulas and foods from our wish list. Every item goes directly to supporting the orphaned wildlife currently in our care.
