We are thrilled to announce that our very own, Cale Peachey, has been elected to serve as the 2026–2027 South Carolina FFA Region 4 State Vice President, serving as Sentinel!

Cale, we are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and know you will represent our chapter, region, and the South Carolina FFA Association with excellence. We can't wait to watch you lead, serve, and make an impact this year.

GBMS FFA had an amazing time attending our very first State FFA Convention! We are so grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with our sister chapter, Barnwell County Career Center.

There were so many special moments throughout the convention. We had the privilege of watching one of Barnwell County’s own members be elected as a South Carolina State FFA Officer, representing our region. What an incredible accomplishment! We were also excited to celebrate our very own Superintendent, Dr. Stapleton, as she received her well-deserved Honorary State FFA Degree for her continued support of FFA and agricultural education.

A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors who made this opportunity possible for our members. Your generosity and support mean so much to our chapter and our students.

Big thank you to the Soil and Water Commission for our brand new greenhouse table! Our 7th and 8th grade students did a great job assembling it this morning, and it’s already being put to good use with the plants we are freshly repotting. We are so grateful for the continued support from our community as this program grows! 🌱

P.S. If you have any plastic pots you’re planning to throw away, we will gladly take them off your hands! ♻️

Today we had the opportunity to return to the State House for Plant Presentation Day. More than 500 plants grown by FFA members from across South Carolina were donated to the State House, not only beautifying the grounds but showing the hard work, dedication, and impact of agricultural education across our state.

Barnwell County was well represented with a total of 28 student members attending in combination with our chapter and our sister chapter from the Barnwell County Career Center. It is so meaningful to have these experiences alongside our sister chapter, strengthening the connection between our schools and creating opportunities for our younger members to learn and grow together as they represent Barnwell and FFA.

Students also had the opportunity to hear from South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers and Senator Greg Hembree, who spoke about the importance of agriculture and FFA in our state and the opportunities it creates for the future.

We are proud of our students and thankful for experiences that allow them to grow, serve, and represent Barnwell County and FFA in such a meaningful way.
