Today, we celebrated the power of partnership and community impact in Estill Village.

Thanks to the partnership between the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and First Citizens Bank, approximately $800,000 in rehabilitation improvements were invested in Estill Village, helping create safer, healthier, and more comfortable homes for residents.

In addition, through our partnership with Palmetto Care Connections, residents have access to free broadband services, opening the door to telehealth, education, employment opportunities, and other online resources.

Residents also learned about valuable programs and services available through FoodShare Bamberg, Southeastern Financial Resource Center , and Resident Services, all designed to support families and strengthen the community.

Together, these partnerships are making a lasting difference and helping improve quality of life for Estill Village residents.

World Hunger Day reminds us that addressing hunger takes more than emergency response, which is why we have FoodShare Bamberg serving Bamberg, Orangeburg, Allendale, and Barnwell Counties through community hubs that bring food access directly into rural communities.

Every two weeks, fresh fruits and vegetables are available for $5 with SNAP, $20 cash, or $21 by card. Make sure to visit foodsharebamberg.com to learn more.

Barnwell County HEALing Partners, is proud to support families this summer through our Summer Harvest Program in partnership Harvest.
We understand that summer break can place additional strain on families when regular school and childcare meal supports are unavailable. Our goal is to help bridge that gap by providing nutritious, child-friendly food bags filled with healthy meal and snack options to help keep our youngest community members nourished and thriving throughout the summer months.
Because every child deserves access to healthy food, growing opportunities, and a strong start in life. 💚

Paying It Forward Ramp Day 2026 was an incredible success! This past weekend, 27 ramps were built across Barnwell and Bamberg Counties—all thanks to the dedication and hard work of our amazing volunteers. We truly couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you. Thank you for showing up, giving back, and making a real difference in our communities!
