SouthernCarolina Alliance prioritizes making sure that industries locating here in our region have the necessary infrastructure needed to support their operations. That's why SCA is pleased to be leading the extension of the water and sewer lines along Highway 321 in Fairfax, extending them to the site of Hampton Lumber's new 375,000-square-foot facility in Allendale County.

Hampton Lumber, a producer of sustainable building materials, announced June 24, 2025, to establish the company's first sawmill on the East Coast in Allendale County. The company's $225 million investment is creating 125 new jobs.

The extension of the water and sewer lines will ensure that Hampton Lumber is equipped with the infrastructure needed to ramp up their operations. We thank the Hampton Lumber team for their investment and creation of good-paying jobs here in the SCA region!
