The dog park is now open with social distancing guidelines posted by the Town. Please contact Animal Control should you have any questions, comments or concerns.

The Town of Barnstable’s goal is to encourage recommended social distancing and discourage the congregation of groups of people during the COVID-19 situation.

So until further notice the dog park will be closed. Sorry for the inconvenience. Take your dogs for a walk if you are able. 🐾🐾

We’re wrapping presents at Barnes and Noble on Dec 19 from 10am - 9pm and need volunteers. Send us a message and we will connect you with Elaine who is coordinating shifts.

Thanks for your support, and please spread the word.

Thank you Leanne Jacques for doing a major p**p patrol today. But we shouldn’t have to. Please be vigilant and pick up your dogs p**p. Without volunteers like this the park wouldn’t be open for you.

Please pass the word and speak up to those who ignore their dog.

Help find Teddy☹️☹️

UPDATE- Teddy was just found! He’s safe and reunited with his owner. Thank you you to everyone to shared and searched for him! 🐶

Help find Teddy! Around 5:15 this evening, he escaped from our neighbors at Rotary Collision- 23 Commercial Street in South Yarmouth. He took off running towards Bass River and never came back... Please keep an eye out for him. Call Kenny at (508)776-7845 if you see Teddy. He’s a super friendly puppy and we hope he makes his way home soon.

Friends of Barnstable Dog Park Seeks New Volunteers

The Barnstable Dog Park, located adjacent to Hathaway’s Pond off Phinney’s Lane in Hyannis is celebrating its first year of operation and the park has proven to be a popular recreation area for dogs to run and play off-leash and a place where their owners can meet new friends and neighbors.

As the park continues to be a popular place for dog owners and dog lovers, we are reaching out to users of the park to help us maintain the property and fundraise to cover the cost of upkeep and future enhancements (additional benches, shade structures, etc.). After eight long years, we feel it is time for our core group to relinquish their roles and bring on new folks with fresh ideas and the skills to keep the dog park vibrant and innovative.

The Friends of Barnstable Dog Parks (FBDP) are seeking volunteers to serve as new officers – President, Vice President, and Secretary – and board members in order to carry on our legacy of providing a clean, well-maintained environment open to all dog lovers and friends in our community. We are also looking for volunteers to give just one hour a week to swap out the trash barrels and replenish the p**p bags – and maybe do a little sweeping. If you are already at the park, it’s a slam dunk!

If you are interested in being involved, please email us at [email protected] or send your information to Friends of Barnstable Dog Parks, Inc., P.O. Box 678, West Barnstable, MA 02668
