I had a very special moment this past weekend. Ivan helped me pack some grief bags and while we were doing so, I asked him if he would read the book I wrote for him after his brother died.
Ivan was only 3.5 years old when Jackson died. He didn’t fully grasp what happened and he also doesn’t remember him 😭
He didn’t have much of an appreciation for it when I’ve tried to share it with him, in the past.
This time was different.
He heard the words meant for him and he said “mom, this is a good book.”
Hearing him read it to me was powerful because I realized that the message meant for him, impacted me also.
I am so proud of all of us. It’s been a tough road.
