Friends of Brookville Fund Raiser
The Friends of Brookville will be offering a Home Firearm Safety Class with all of the proceeds going to the Friends of Brookville Charitable Organization. All participant materials and instructors are being donated. The course will be run April 11 beginning at 9AM. Registration is required – we have 25 student packets for this class. NRA Home Firearm Safety Course
This non-shooting course, intended for adults, teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of fi****ms and ammunition in the home. This is a four-hour course conducted in the classroom only. Participants are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of fi****ms accidents; firearm parts; how to unload various fi****ms; cleaning; care; safe storage of fi****ms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Participants will, using actual fi****ms, have the ability to safely unload each of the following using dummy ammunition;
Rifles – Bolt Action, Lever Action, Semi-Auto
Shotguns – Pump Action, Break Action, Semi-Auto
Pistols – Single Action, Double Action revolvers, Semi-Auto
Muzzleloading Fi****ms for discussion only not for unloading in this class.
Participants will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, course completion certificate along with NRA Eddie Eagle Gun Safety materials for children.
We would request that if 2 adults in the same household want to come, only one register to receive the materials leaving room for more to participants. We are requesting a minimum donation of $40 to attend this class. You are free to donate more. Checks made out to Friends of Brookville or cash will be accepted the day of the class where your materials will be supplied.
Friends of Brookville
The purpose of Friends of Brookville (FOB) is to develop and implement lifelong relationships for our supporters and encourage their gifts of time, talent, and philanthropy to help Citta Scout Reservation.
FOB serves as a NJ (501(c)(3) registered charity for our supporters with various Scouting affiliations. Past Citta staff alumni, OA members, Woodbadgers, retired scouters, current scouters, Brookville staffers, and anyone interested in supporting Citta Scout Reservation. FOB also facilitates the sharing of memories of Scouting within our community through an annual reunion.
The cost of the class is a minimum donation of $40 to Friends of Brookville, larger donations are certainly welcome. This is meant for adults.
