September 27th — A Day We Will Never Forget ❤️
September 27th will forever hold a place in our hearts.
As we approach the anniversary of the day Hurricane Helene changed our lives forever, we want to take a moment to acknowledge what we went through, what we rebuilt, and where we continue to go as a community.
We are asking our Big Ivy community to help us preserve our history.
📸 Please bring us your photographs — pictures of you, your family, your home, your road, your neighbors, your community, or moments from the days following September 27th.
Along with each photograph, please include a small note card explaining what the picture is, where it was taken, and what that moment means to you.
We will use these photographs and stories to create a Big Ivy Community Center Hurricane Helene Memory Book/Scrapbook that will remain here at the Community Center for our community to look through for years to come.
This isn't just about remembering the tragedy. It's about remembering the people, the moments, the strength, the heartbreak, the helping hands, and the incredible resilience of our community.
It is part of our history.
One day, generations who weren't here will want to understand what September 27th meant to Big Ivy — what we lost, what we faced, how we came together, and how we built back, grew, and continued forward.
❤️ Help us preserve those memories.
Please submit your photographs and note cards to Big Ivy Community Center by the third week of September, if possible, so we can begin putting our memory book together. Bring by on TUESDAY'S FROM 10AM TO 6PM
Thank you for helping us remember — not only where we've been, but how far we've come.
