🌊 BIG IVY POOL GRAND OPENING –
JUNE 11TH! 🌊
We are excited to announce that the Big Ivy Pool will officially open on Thursday, June 11th, and we invite the entire community to come celebrate with us on opening day!

We are proud to share that we have passed our pool inspection and are thrilled we were able to host Barnardsville Elementary today, June 5th. While the pool is ready, we are still waiting on a few final items before opening to the public. Our refrigerator and freezer are scheduled for delivery, and we need a little more time to stock our concession stand and complete a few finishing touches.

We sincerely appreciate everyone's patience and support throughout this process. We know our community has waited a long time to have the pool back, and we wanted to make sure everything is ready for a great summer season.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible. We look forward to welcoming you back to the pool and seeing everyone on June 11th!

🌱 Community Garden & Grounds Update 🌱
Today, the Garden & Grounds Committee has more volunteers out working on the raised garden beds we've started. With the help, support, and guidance of a church group, we're excited to be creating a Community Garden at the center!

The garden will feature easy-to-maintain raised beds and an irrigation system to help ensure a successful growing season for everyone to enjoy.
Throughout this week and the rest of the month, volunteers will continue working on projects around the center, including:
🌼 Cleaning and restoring flower beds
🌿 Moving brush and clearing areas
🥕 Planting vegetables and flowers
🍂 Spreading mulch
🔨 Completing maintenance projects
🥾 Beginning discussions and planning for a future walking trail

We welcome anyone in the community who would like to lend a hand. Whether you can spare an hour or a whole day, your help makes a difference!

Come be a part of improving and growing our community center for generations to come. Together, we can create something special! 💚

You may have heard that Top Chef featured Asheville's food scene and Appalachian cuisine in a recent episode - but did you know they donated all the leftover food and ingredients to MANNA? Their donation totaled nearly 5,000 lbs and was made up of many types of food that are necessary for cooking but often hard to find in the charitable food system - ingredients like butter and salt that make food fun and tasty!

We are so grateful to Top Chef for featuring our community as it rebuilds and for giving back to our neighbors while they were here!

🇺🇸 Veterans and Active Military—You’re Invited! 🇺🇸

Join us at the Big Ivy Community Center on July 3rd as we celebrate 250 years of American Independence. Approximately at 1:30p.m after our National Anthem performance by The Emory’s.

During our celebration, we will take time to recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans and active military members.

As a token of our appreciation, BICC would like to present each Veteran and Active Military member in attendance with a commemorative coin honoring America’s 250 years of independence.

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of music, fellowship, and community as we celebrate our nation and those who have helped protect its freedoms.
