Yesterday, the students had sessions in the morning. That evening, we all attended a night tour of the monuments.
We started out with the Lincoln Memorial and walked the area, seeing the Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial, WWI, and WWII Memorials. Following that, we were able to see the FDR and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorials, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, and lastly, the Iwo Jima Memorial.
It has been a long few days of walking, but had been an amazing experience for everyone!

On Tuesday, we got up, switched hotels and traveled through D.C. to take a tour on a ferry down the Potomac River, directly to George Washington’s estate, Mount Vernon. We were able to go through the house, see the stables and all the outer buildings, the slave quarters, a 16 sided barn for grain separating, and the museum.
After, we got ice cream and headed to the Omni-Shoreham Hotel to begin the Washington Leadership Conference.

We made it safely to D.C. yesterday morning! We flew out from KC bright and early, checked into our hotel, traveled on the Metro, visited Arlington National Cemetery, and went to Georgetown for supper.

It was a long day of walking, but got to see lots of new sights!

Kiss A Cow!!

We are hosting a fundraiser to help a group of students go to Washington Leadership Conference! All funds for this fundraiser will help the 5 of them cover the cost of the trip.

We have 3 faculty members who have generously agreed to be a part of this fundraiser. Mr. Murphy, Mr. Freemyer, and Mrs. McGinness.

On May 13, Dewey, the steer, will be coming to SN for an assembly to find out who will be kissing the cow!

The teacher with the most money in their box will kiss Dewey.

For any questions, or the option to Venmo, contact Ms. Flora at [email protected].
