Lions Club of Barkhamsted won FIRST PRIZE in the adult category for the 2022 Christmas In Riverton Festival of Trees event sponsored by Riverton Grange No 169 Inc. The winning tree was the one who received the most cash and non-perishable food item donations. The Lions Club decided to donate their cash prize to ECAD, Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable people with disabilities to gain greater independence and mobility through the use of specially educated dogs. Barkhamsted Lions Club's Immediate Past President and founder of ECAD Lions Club Branch Dave Roberts said he was so pleased with this club decision to donate this prize money that he would match the donation and challenged others to donate also.
