The BARDWELL VFW Auxiliary 5409 will be having a Spaghetti Dinner on Tuesday, July 26th. , from 3:30 till we run out. $5 a plate will get you Spaghetti, meat sauce and garlic bread. Hope to see everyone at the VFW Hall.

I’d like to thank all the business in BARDWELL that supported the BARDWELL VFW Auxiliary during our Buddy Poppy give away / donation. The Post, Auxiliary, and Veterans appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

If you don’t know why the Poppies are so important to the Veterans here is the story.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow between the crosses, row on row that mark our place; and in the sky the larks, still bravely singing, fly search heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago we lived, felt drawn, saw sunset glow, loved and were loved, and now we lie in Flanders Field.

Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from falling hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die we shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders Field.

We’ll I finally did it. Created this page to try and keep everyone up to date on the upcoming events that the Auxiliary are doing.

The Auxiliary has currently put Poppies at three locations in BARDWELL, A-1 Liquors Greg’s and at Citizens Deposit Bank. It doesn’t matter how small are large your donations is it all goes to help the Veterans. Thank you
