Our prayers go out to the members of the Elizabethtown Police Department.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our beloved K-9s, K-9 Zeus, who tragically died during training last week.

K-9s are more than working partners, they are members of their handlers family. Each K-9 lives at home with their handler, and the bond formed between a handler, their family, and their K-9 is unlike any other.

Out of respect for the handler and his family, we ask for privacy and understanding during this incredibly difficult time. We appreciate the prayers, support, and compassion shown to our agency and to those most affected by this loss.

BARDSTOWN (Nelson) - Today, we remember and honor Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis, who was killed in the line of duty 13 years ago today.

Officer Ellis was more than a police officer — he was a husband, a father, a brother, a friend, and a protector of his community.

His sacrifice shook not only Bardstown, Kentucky, but the entire first responder family across this nation.

For us, that tragedy became the genesis of our organization.

In the pain, heartbreak, and determination to never forget, a brotherhood was formed with a mission to honor our fallen heroes, support those left behind, and ensure their names and sacrifices live on forever.

Jason’s legacy continues to inspire everything we do. Every mile ridden, every event hosted, every flag carried, and every name spoken is rooted in the promise that we will never allow our fallen to be forgotten.

Today, we ask everyone to join us in remembering Officer Jason Ellis, his family, and all who continue to carry the weight of that loss.

This Memorial Day, we join the nation in honoring the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to others.

What began as Decoration Day has become a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the enduring responsibility to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Across generations, Americans have paused on this day to reflect on lives dedicated to protecting others with courage, honor, and selfless devotion.

At the Kentucky Brotherhood Foundation, remembrance is at the heart of our mission.

Public Safety and military communities share a profound bond - one built on duty, sacrifice, and a commitment to serve something greater than oneself.

Today, we recognize that enduring bond. As members of emergency services, we pause to express our deepest gratitude to all who have made the ultimate sacrifice - and to the families and communities who carry their legacy forward.

We honor their legacy with unwavering respect.

Join us in remembering all who gave the last full measure of devotion - those who laid down their lives in defense of our nation, and those who served and died in the line of duty as members of the military fire service.

Their legacy lives on through the stories we share, the lives they touched, and the sacred places of remembrance as a lasting tribute to service, sacrifice, and courage that will never be forgotten.

We honor. We remember. We will never forget.

Today, Kentucky Brotherhood honors the mothers who shape lives through love, sacrifice, strength, and faith.

Whether raising families, supporting first responders, standing beside those who serve, or leading by example in their communities — mothers embody the very heart of service and compassion.

To every mom across the Commonwealth and beyond, thank you for the countless ways you inspire, encourage, and hold families together.

From our Kentucky Brotherhood family to yours, we wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day.
