Last week was our Mad Scientist Week, and it was filled with experiments, STEAM activities, and plenty of fun!

Our members put their teamwork skills to the test by building towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows to see how tall they could make them. They stepped into the role of chemists as they explored exciting chemical reactions, created crystals, and made cloud dough to turn into DIY squishies.

To wrap up an amazing week, we enjoyed some delicious science-themed treats by making homemade butter and ice cream!

It was a week full of creativity, discovery, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. We loved watching our young scientists explore, experiment, and have fun along the way!

Wilderness Week at Union Boys & Girls Club was a huge success!

Our members spent the week exploring the outdoors, learning new skills, and discovering the world around them through hands-on activities and special visitors. We were excited to welcome the Kentucky Division of Forestry and our friend Smokey Bear, who taught us about forest conservation, fire safety, and protecting our natural resources.

We also had an amazing visit from our friends at Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site, who brought a variety of fascinating critters for our members to learn about and interact with. From wildlife education to up-close animal encounters, it was an experience our kids won't soon forget!

Throughout the week, members enjoyed fishing, building STEM solar ovens to make delicious s’mores, and participating in a variety of outdoor adventures.

And while we were having fun, we were also keeping our minds sharp with mental math challenges, Snap Circuit engineering activities, journaling, and critical-thinking exercises that encouraged creativity and problem-solving.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make Wilderness Week such a memorable experience. Learning, exploring, and growing together is what summer at Union is all about!

Wilderness Week is off to a great start at Union Boys & Girls Club!

This week, our campers are exploring the great outdoors during Wilderness Week! We have a fun lineup of activities planned that will help members learn more about nature, wildlife, and the environment around them.

Our members created their own bird feeders and placed them outside so they can observe and learn about the different types of birds that visit throughout the week. It’s a great way to combine creativity, science, and outdoor exploration!

We also had a very special visitor stop by—Smokey Bear! Members enjoyed meeting Smokey and learning about the importance of fire safety and protecting our forests.

We’re looking forward to more outdoor adventures, hands-on activities, and discoveries as Wilderness Week continues!

This month at the Union Boys & Girls Club, our members focused on the importance of kindness and empathy.

They spent time learning ways they can be kind not only to others, but also to themselves. Our members created thoughtful lists filled with ways to encourage, help, and support the people around them.

To go along with these lessons, our members also made special gifts for the women in their lives they love and appreciate. From moms and grandmothers to aunts and mentors, these gifts were made with care straight from the heart.

We are so proud of our members for showing compassion, creativity, and kindness every day!

Our Union Boys & Girls Club members are cheering on the college students during finals week!

This week, our kids shared motivational notes and words of encouragement across campus to remind students they’ve got this! From “You've got this” to “Think positive!” their kindness is making a big impact.

Our members love being part of the campus community and truly look up to the college students they see every day. Seeing their hard work inspires our kids to dream big and keep pushing forward.

The members at the Union Boys & Girls Club have been reaching for the stars! We have been making rocket ships, learning all about space, and discovering what it takes to become astronauts.

Along with our space adventures, the members have also been enjoying the beautiful campus and having fun with dancing brain breaks throughout the day!

It has been an out-of-this-world experience so far!

The Union Boys & Girls Club had a great time celebrating Earth Day this week! 🌎

Members spent time learning about the importance of keeping our planet clean to protect the environment and all living things. From meaningful discussions to hands-on learning, it’s been inspiring to see their passion for making a difference grow!

They also explored the benefits of reducing, reusing, and recycling, gaining valuable knowledge they can carry with them every day.

We’re proud of our members for taking steps toward a cleaner, healthier planet!
