RAKE Task Force

A huge extension of gratitude to all the anonymous volunteers who participated in our first annual random acts of kindness marathon. I'm sure you are all exhausted by now, but remember all the good we did. We helped feed the hungry, clothe the poor, provided companionship, transportation, and recreation to those who truly needed it. We did some home repairs for the elderly, baked goodies for those facing hard times. We celebrated the efforts of public servants in our community. We often felt like we bit off more than we could chew. We learned a lot and grew a lot. Looking forward to an even better one next year. Thank you for all you gave.

The KCEOC Community Action Partnerships Emergency Shelter is in need of donations to help provide food, clothing, and other essentials to people who are experiencing homelessness.

If you are able to donate any of the items listed below, please drop them off at the Emergency Shelter at 5448 N US Hwy 25E, Gray, KY 40734.

+ Pillows and Pillowcases, blankets/comforters (in great need)
+ Fitted sheets (Twin Size) (in great need)

TOILETRIES:
+ Towels/washcloths (in great need)
+ Hygiene Items such as disposable razors, shaving cream, and deodorant
+ Toilet Paper

FOOD
+ Fresh Foods
+ Drinks, Breakfast Foods
+ Sugar, Bread, Milk
+ Coffee, Creamer, and Filters
+ Sandwich Meat
+ Bread
+ Frozen Meats
+ Frozen Vegetables and Fruits
+ Frozen Meals that are microwaveable

Two more days avaliable to go out and support the local toy and coat drive while also getting some delicious treats!!

We are honored to be invited to share in this event. Every person deserves a hot meal and warm clothes. Not everyone has a family feast to attend this Thanksgiving, but thanks to Barbourville City School, no one has to feel left out. Members of the RAKE task force will be there with our sleeves rolled up, spreading kindness like kudzu.

We are collecting coats to be cleaned and distributed to our neighbors in need this Winter. Please check your closet. If you have more than you need, please bring it to the SEKHA meeting on Tuesday or message us to have them picked up.

Fantastic Veterans Day Parade put on by Knox County American Veterans and Patriots!! It was absolutely beautiful to see the community coming together to honor our veterans!!!

This is something we should start within our community!!

Back when we had a family restaurant my dad would constantly give away food because he was very generous. Seeing this reminds me of those days. I wish more restaurants would do this
