We need some help…. Added details below…
Have a dog that needs a home from someone that is going into a group home. Looking for a rescue that can help. Have tried SC Humane Society, Rubber City Rescue and One of a Kind Pets…no room right now.
Must be taken care of by 8a tomorrow morning.

Have someone that can stay with for two days. Hopefully, a rescue will come thru by then. Thanks to ever for your help!

Common Threads this week! Dinner tonight! Closet open Thursday and Saturday!

Wednesday, Tonight, August 26th….
Join us 5:30-6:30p, chicken casserole, country green beans, plus more and dessert, hot coffee and cold beverage too! Prepared and served by our community volunteers! Doors open at 5p.

Tomorrow, Thursday, August 20th…the Closet open 4-7p for clothing, shoes and household items.

No appointment is necessary for clothing, pantry but we ask for patience, we are super busy and offer a number system so we can help everyone get thru as quickly as possible. Parking is available on the streets...please enter in the door across from the YMCA.

Bus stop is at the corner of Lake Avenue and 2nd Street. Common Threads Closet in Barberton is located at 211 3rd St NW, in the lower level of Lakeview United Methodist Church.

We’re also open Saturday, August 29th! Common Threads Closet is open 10a-1p, hot lunch served 10:30a-12:30p.

Beginning this week, the State of Ohio will be mailing important notices to adults enrolled in Group VIII Medicaid, also known as Medicaid Expansion, MAGI Adult, or Ribicoff coverage.

Beginning January 1, 2027, Medicaid recipients in Group VIII will need to complete at least 80 hours (or the equivalent of) each month of approved activities to continue to receive Medicaid coverage. In Summit County, we estimate this will affect 25% of our Medicaid recipients.

This requirement will not apply to everyone. Exemptions may include parents or caregivers of young children, people caring for someone with a disability, people with certain physical or mental health conditions, pregnant or postpartum residents, people participating in substance use treatment, certain veterans, people enrolled in Medicare, and others.

• How to determine if you are in Group VIII
• How to determine if you qualify for an exemption
• What documents you will need to prove you are exempt
• Resources to find employment to fulfill work requirements

Finally, we encourage residents who receive Medicaid to:

• Make sure Summit County Department of Job & Family Services has your current address;
• Open and read every letter about your Medicaid coverage;
• Respond to requests by the deadline listed in the notice;
• Report changes in address, income, household members, or pregnancy; and
• Keep copies of documents that may be needed.

The website is updated with all current guidance we have received from the federal and state agencies implementing these changes. To avoid increasing phone wait times, SCDJFS is asking residents to utilize online resources and the Ohio Benefits Self-Services Portal whenever possible.

Tomorrow, Thursday, August 13th…the Closet open 4-7p for clothing, shoes and household items.
