BARBERTON SMOKE DETECTOR PROGRAM

The Barberton Smoke Detector Program provides Barberton residents with a free smoke detector(s) that includes installation by a Barberton firefighter. After completing an application, a date and time will be scheduled for a firefighter to deliver and install the detector(s) in the residence.

Residents may complete an online application located at http://cityofbarberton.com/158/Fire-Department or stop by Station One Fire Department located at 580 Wooster Rd. W.

Smoke alarms save lives! Smoke alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries. Alarms should be replaced every 10 years. Please take advantage of this program and keep you and your family safe.

This program runs through Community Action Akron Summit, they will assist income-eligible Summit County residents in maintaining their electric/gas service through the program. 330-436-0261 or go to https://capappointments.com

The Summer Crisis Program, which helps income-eligible residents with electricity bills, runs from July 1 through Sept. 30.
