Baraga County Search and Rescue (BCSAR) is a non-profit volunteer search and rescue resource for the Baraga County Sheriff’s department in Baraga, Michigan. The agency also offers volunteer service to other areas of the North western half of Upper Peninsula. The organization was first created in 2010 in cooperation with the Baraga County Sheriff’s Department. BCSAR receives funding from the Department of Homeland Security and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.

Baraga County Search and Rescue has been recognized by the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of State Police for their efforts in the May 6-8 search that was conducted in the Porcupine Mountains where 8 year old Nante Niemi was found alive.
