Join Hope House and other local service providers at the Adams Color Run on Saturday, October 17, for a 5k run and lots of family fun! There will be food trucks, face painting, music and a raffle!
Advance registration is now open but there will also be registration at the event starting at 9am. $15 registration fee gets you into the run, an event t-shirt and a complimentary raffle ticket. All funds raised and donated will go to supporting the work of Hope House.
The 5k starts at 10am at the Adams Friendship Middle School, but stay for the raffle drawing at noon.

💜Today is the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Domestic violence is about gaining power and control over someone else- an intimate partner or family member- and shows itself as emotional and psychological abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, economic or financial control, and through isolation of loved ones. Sadly, domestic violence is not uncommon and everyone knows someone impacted by violence. The impacts on survivors and families can last a lifetime, and touches every community, race, gender, sexual orientation, age and ability.
📣We hope you'll use this month to raise your voice in support of survivors and against abuse,
📖to educate yourself and your family and friends about the issue and how to offer support or where to turn to
📱and to directly offer support or resources to anyone impacted by domestic violence.
And remember, Hope House is here, always -608-356-7500 anytime, day or night.

Our Community Education Program Manager Jess is back in part 2 of her Talk About It Tuesday video on sextortion where she covers how we can help prevent and address sextortion.

In addition to monitoring children's online connections and establishing good online boundaries, it's important to have honest conversations with youth emphasizing they can always come to you if something happens online that makes them feel uncomfortable or confused. Adults should respond with compassion and react in a way that helps that young person know they are supported.
