The Bannister ZCBJ Folk Dancers will begin practice for this year’s Harvest Festival on Monday evening, June 22nd. This is a very special year as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Harvest Festival (Dozinky) in Bannister.

Congratulations to Carol Smolka and John Chvojka who were honored as Mother and Father of the Year for Lodge #225 at a special dinner and celebration held at the lodge hall.

JOIN HANDS DAY
Forty six wonderful volunteers (members and non members) came together in Bannister on Saturday to sew items for hospice patients. The final tally is not in yet, but over 250 clothing protectors, more than 400 carrot hand pillows, 70 neck pillows and many catheter bag covers were made by this great group. Many thanks to all who came together to contribute to the comfort and dignity of local patients.

Members of the Lodge donated $944 in needed items (clothing, shoes, personal care items) for the Saginaw Veterans Hospital. Many thanks to all who contributed and to Sally Stoll and Ruth Malek for chairing this project.

A special dinner and program were held at the Bannister ZCBJ lodge to initiate new members and to honor members who were celebrating 50 and 75 years of membership in the association.
A warm welcome was extended to new members Samuel Kremer, Mark Garrity and Amelia Garrity.
Celebrating 50 years of membership were Victor Ladiski, Dana Dvoracek, and John Ladiski. Honored for 75 years of membership were James Maddox, Nancy Brown, Carol Nixon, Leonard Beldyga, and Diane Bradley.
Also pictured are officers Sarah Bradley, Ed Fornusek, Bob Ladiski, Sally Stoll and BetterLife Director Mary Bradley. Program participants were Amy Brown, Anmarie Bradley-Dodd, Isaac Bradley, Tisha Bradley-Dodd, Joe Smolka and Charles Olsen.
