Last night, the City Council presented an official proclamation recognizing July as Parks & Recreation Month. Our Parks & Recreation Director, Ralph Wright, accepted the proclamation on behalf of the department and our community. Parks & Recreation Month is celebrated nationally each July, honoring the essential role parks, programs, and recreation professionals play in supporting healthy, connected, and thriving communities. We’re proud of the work our Parks & Recreation team does every day to keep our parks vibrant, welcoming, and active spaces for everyone. The City of Banning Parks and Recreation Department will be closed today, June 19, 2026 in observance of Juneteenth.

The Repplier Parks Aquatic Center and Day Camp program will run as normal.

We will resume normal service on Monday, June 22, 2026.

Celebrate with us on July 4, 2026 as we have our annual Aerial Fireworks and Family Fun Fest at Nicolet Middle School Football Field!

Entry to the event is free. No pets allowed.

Live music by the Surf City All Star Band, sponsored by the Playhouse Bowl Association from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

We will have inflatable interactives, food and craft vendors.

Firework show will start at 9:00 PM.

Check out our upcoming AI Literacy Summer Camp.

There are 2 different sessions for kids to gain some awesome AI Experience from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Session 1: June 22, 2026 - July 3, 2026
Session 2: July 13, 2026 - July 24, 2026

Open to ages 6-18.

Cost $100 per session. All materials are included.

Most City of Banning facilities will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. The Repplier Park Aquatic Center will still be open with normal hours.
Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved people in the United States. It’s a day to recognize that moment in history and reflect on its meaning today.
