Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman took their no kitten pledge today and are recovering in the recovery kennels before they can come out and play! Their tortie sister, Supergirl, will be spayed at our local vet and will join them soon on the adoptable list. For now, these three are now available for adoption and are located in Bangs, TX.

Do you love animals? Well of course you do! And as you may already know, we are big advocates for the animals and have been making our stake here in Brown County.

If you’ve had the chance to meet us and see us in action, then you already know how hard we fight for and care for them. Our mission is to rescue as many as we can, provide resources to pet parents in need, and to educate the community on the state of animal welfare and what they can do to help.

So where do you come in? Well we have a big event coming November 7th, 2026 and it’s nothing like Brown County has seen before. We’ve already started reaching out to some businesses and the excitement is growing. You see, we have partnered with UFC Veteran Steven “Ocho” Peterson who hosts MMA Showcasing Events “True Grit”, and we are putting on an epic MMA Showcase benefiting the rescue. The event will be located at The Hideout Golf Club & Resort in Brownwood, TX. Big thank you to their staff for helping make this happen!

We are looking for sponsors and donors to help us join this fight and raise some funds so that we can expand our operations here and increase our impact. We need to raise a minimum of $5,000 by October 10th to make this event EPIC! Heart of Texas Animal Rescue is now officially available through Walmart’s Spark Good Round Up!

That means you can support local animals in need simply by rounding up your change when you shop online at Walmart.com or in the Walmart app. 🐾

When you select Heart of Texas Animal Rescue as your preferred charity, you’ll have the option to round your purchase up to the nearest dollar at checkout, and that change is donated to our rescue.

It might only be $0.18, $0.47, or $0.82 at a time, but imagine what happens when dozens or hundreds of our neighbors choose to round up. Those little bits of change become food, vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, medical care, foster supplies, and second chances for animals right here in our community.

Miss Belle is just absolutely purrrrrfect!

She is approximately 5 years old, fully vetted, and microchipped and is ready for her forever home! She does well with other cats and ignores the dogs, all she wants is to be snuggled up by your side watching your favorite dramas! **She was picked up and now at the shelter. Please somebody save this girl.**

This poor girl is over in front of awaken church by the new five below. We can’t get her to come close enough to leash her and don’t want to scare her into the busy road. We’ve got her food and water and she’s definitely got heat exhaustion but tries to bolt when we try to leash her. If anyone knows her or who she might belong to please let us know. If someone is willing to step up as a foster and we are able to get her in the car we will cover all food and medical for her to the best of our ability. ❤️ 🙏🏻
