Bangs Lions Christmas Parade, live nativity, photos with Santa scheduled

The Bangs MDD (Municipal Development District) and the Bangs Lions Club will be presenting this year's Christmas parade. The events are scheduled for December 11. Lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. near the bus barn on Gantt St., with the parade kicking off around 6 p.m. The parade will head down Fitzgerald, turn on 1st St., and end at Bangs City Park (not the ball fields). No entry fee is required, but if interested in being in the parade, text or leave a message at 325-200-1276. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be a live nativity presented by Bangs First Baptist Church. Once the live nativity is over, Santa will arrive at the big pavilion at city park (not the ball fields) for photos. You must bring your own camera.Free cookies and refreshments will be served. Join us Monday at 6:30 p.m. Monday, September 27 if you are looking for a way to give back to the community. We meet at the Bangs Community Center (Housing Authority building) located at 406 E. Spencer. We will be discussing upcoming holiday projects including this year's Bangs Christmas Parade. We would love for you to be a part.

The next meeting of the Bangs Lions Club is Monday, August 23 at the Bangs Community Center, located at 406 E. Spencer. Our club is made up of all ages and professions. If you would like to serve your community, we can be your answer. Come check us out!

Statistics show that most blood shortages occur after major holidays - Like Christmas! You can help by donating at the City of Bangs blood drives Mon., Dec 28 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Tues, Dec 30 and Wed, Dec 31 from 1p.m. to 6 p.m. The blood drives are being held at the community center, located at 406 W. Spencer in Bangs. Lifesaving blood donors will receive a FREE Covid 19 antibody test, custom throw blanket and Chick-Fil-A and McDonald's coupons for a FREE sandwich.
