On December 19th, I took my niece, Lola, out for her birthday lunch. We laughed, joked, chatted and probably ate too much poutine.
When it came time to pay the bill, our waiter said the bill had been paid for by another customer who overheard that it was her birthday.
I used this as an opportunity to teach her about the chain of love and why it's important to keep it going.
She is a Girl Scout, so I let her decide how she wanted to give back. She asked to go and pick up supplies to donate to a local animal shelter.
On Friday, we finally went out and completed her mission. She walked through the aisles carefully browsing the wish list and chose all of her own items, which included a toy for each of the cats at the shelter.
My favorite part of Girl Scouts is seeing it in action! Seeing her proud of herself and watching her confidence grow is such a special thing to be a part of, and I am happy we are both part of the GSME family so we can experience these opportunities together 💖
This young lady is an independent Girl Scout out of Juliet troop. She decided to grab items off our wish list and donate them and deliver them herself to the shelter today. She then went in the kitty room and fell in love with all of them.
Thank you so much fir thinking of our wonderful animals here, and taking the time to donate. 🙏❤️
We can't do this without you.
