An appeal to our fans and followers:

There is A LOT happening within the CCA currently; some of the most ambitious projects we have undertaken since the initial purchase of Eagle Bluff in 2014:

- Working with Frenchman’s Bay Conservancy and Northeast Wilderness Trust to maintain climbing access to Fletchers Bluff and Halfmile Pond Bluff
- Large scale trails grant project to add 2+ miles of new machine built trail on the back slopes of Eagle Bluff
- Exploratory campaign to identify new land acquisition targets and copacetic grants to help with funding.

We are a small, 100% volunteer organization, and we really need your help! We have continued to see our membership numbers dwindle, yet use of the Eagle Bluff property is at an all time high.

Some of our accomplishments in recent years:
- Bolt replacement on a mass scale to make your local crags safer
- infrastructure improvements including a new main parking lot, and trail signage
- new trails for mountain biking and hiking
- more regular events for our members, and potential new members

Our organization depends on membership, community involvement through volunteerism and other voluntary donations to continue this increased energy and progress. If you enjoy Eagle Bluff (and safer routes at Parks Pond and other crags in the greater Clifton area), please consider joining the CCA. Your donations (small or large) or new membership (or renewal) is incredibly valuable not only to help cover operating costs, but to show to larger institutional benefactors and state agencies overseeing grant approvals that we are a healthy and growing organization who has supportive and engaged members.

Please consider joining the CCA, and we commit to continuing our stewardship and improvements in the central Maine climbing community.

Memberships start at $15/yr, and as an added benefit, entitles you to a discount at our primary partner sponsor, Alpenglow Adventure Sports.

We hope to see all of our members and any new curious faces at our Community Bouldering Event on Saturday, 4/25. Come on out and see what we’re all about. The boulder field is in great shape with many new and reinvigorated older boulder lines freshly cleaned.

HAPPY Spring!!

Supporting your LCO (local climbing organization) is critical to helping ensure access to your favorite local crags is maintained, future access threats are monitored, and organizational structures exist to address those future threats swiftly.

An Appeal:
We have seen our membership dwindle in the recent years despite significantly increased property useage, and we need your help! Membership to the CCA will allow us to continue embarking on exciting new projects and continue the momentum from last few years:

- Hundreds of bolts replaced, including removal of cold shuts, anchor replacement with safe, consistent hardware
- New routes added to Eagle Bluff and Parks Pond Bluff including new boulders at Eagle Bluff
- New main parking lot installed and Trail signage project well underway, with more to come in 2026
- Annual Community Bouldering day established for 2 years running, and significant trail work to make navigating the bouldering circuit more enjoyable
- Multi use and biking specific trails are being introduced slowly

Once you join the CCA or renew your current membership, join us on Thursday, 12/4/25 at Alpenglow in Bangor for our Annual Meeting at 6:30p. We will be electing our new board for 2026. See you there!

Have you ever felt Eagle Bluff was a confusing trail network with a complete lack of signage? Us too!

We are pleased to announce we have added some new signs to the Eagle Bluff Property to help make navigation easier. Special thanks to Jacob Holmes for engraving the signs and to Snowman Printing for donating the sign boards.

We are working on additional signs for a second batch to install in the Spring.

Get out onto the trails before they are covered in snow. See you out there!
