Today is recognized as World Hunger Day.

Created in 2011 by The Hunger Project, World Hunger Day brings awareness to the global hunger crisis. This day is meant to draw people together to recognize the importance of hunger.

Did you know that about 1 in 12 people worldwide live in hunger?

Looking to make a difference? There are plenty of ways to get involved today to help fight hunger across the globe.

- Advocate for change by writing to your local representatives
- Reduce your food waste by planning out meals or composting leftovers
- Support your local food banks or hunger relief organizations
- Take time to educate yourself and others on the issue of world hunger

Looking to brighten up someone’s day? Today is International Give Flowers to Someone Day.

Giving someone flowers is a great way to show love, appreciation, and gratitude. You also don’t need a reason to do it at all! You can make someone’s day by giving them a flower and telling them how much they mean to you.

This month, our team is wearing green to show our support for mental health awareness and to stand in solidarity with the individuals, families, and communities we serve every day.

At OHI, we believe that mental health matters for everyone. Raising awareness helps break stigma, encourages understanding, and reminds us all that support, compassion, and connection can make a meaningful difference.

🗣️ 🚨 CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS🚨 🗣️

We need help for this weekend's food drive on Saturday, May 9th!

This is a big drive for the food pantry! Last year the Stamp Out Hunger drive brought in over 6,000 lbs of food! The BAFP serves over 1,000 people a week in our local community, and this drive is crucial to helping our neighbors with food insecurities. We need help sorting and storing the incoming donations at the food pantry, and would be grateful for any helping hands we could get! 🙌 🙌 🙌
