Legendary Hall of Famer Steve Pound passed away today, May 2nd.

Steve was a member of the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame, Class of 2014, and a valued member of the Hall of Fame's Board of Directors. His efforts on behalf of the Hall were vital in the MBHoF's development.

A 1968 graduate of Stearns High School, Steve led the Minutemen to the State Championship while averaging nearly 50ppg his senior year. He continued his playing days at Acadia University where he helped them win the Canadian Championship.

Our MBHoF family sends our deepest condolences to Steve's wife Elisa, his children Sarah and Mark, and his entire family at this difficult time.

The Pass It Forward women's basketball clinic at Cony High School — headlined by legendary former Notre Dame Women's Basketball coach Muffet McGraw — is for women (college student-athletes, too) who coach or aspire to coach any sport. The Sept. 14 morning session focuses on leadership, building team culture, and achieving peak performance. Details about other amazing speakers (Adrienne Shibles, Dr. Anne Beethe, and Courtney England, to name a few), and the registration link, are in the comment section.

McGraw won two national championships coaching at Notre Dame and is an advocate for women in coaching and athletic administration
