Always...

Good Evening! What a gorgeous weather day!!! If all the days could be like this one...we would be living in paradise. I believe tomorrow will be a repeat.

Today before 730, I picked up two bags of CLYNK by chance. I have a box of 10 rolls and stickers ready for our Overnight Nurse to pick them up tomorrow. It is getting closer for the weather to turn cold and Warming Centers will be opening in November and December and remain so throughout the winter. The coffee, tea and other hot drinks, along with snacks and hot meals will be made readily available for our homeless. Giving those without a roof over their heads during the winter months, a place to stay and regroup for the night. We all know our Maine Winters are tough and our homeless need this bit of HOPE that we all care for them.

Today, our CBPO started the process of getting credits for the bad peanut butter type packets that were sent out to us. Thankfully we had enough to fill in the gaps.

We had a request over the weekend for size 18 men's sneakers. These came in today and were sent out to a gentleman who desperately needed them.

Our next Blessing Bag is September 12 @ 9 AM at MaineSpace. 13 days away yes, but we need to get a "stock" made up for our homeless for these Blessing Bags.

Tomorrow, a new but experienced Villager is coming in to learn the ropes for distribution days. We are all excited for this and it gives us an extra pair of hands.

Gratitude..

A brief but meaningful post tonight.

Good Evening! What a pleasant late summer weather day. Tomorrow is a mixed bag but we will manage to survive it.

Today was Blessing Bag day. We had 17 people to assist us with assembling the Blessing Bags (aka food bags). We did over 900 which will provide a lot of food to the Case Managers as they go out on the routes each day. We also started assembling winter hygiene bags but they didn't get them finished. Hopefully later this week.

Many thanks to Amy, Eric, Deb, Joshua, Jonathan, Ken, Donna, Spencer, Netti, Gabby, Alica, Michelle, Shanelle, Don, Tricia, Bonnie and Jim. We had 3 high school kids today. It Makes my heart 💗💗swell when we get the kids to assist us. These younger folks are going to be the ones that carry this project forward as the older ones need to retire.

I am wrapping it up early tonight due to my treatment schedule and I dropped a table onto my leg. When I do something, I go all out when I do so.

Allowed to HOPE again..

Blessing Bag assembly is this Saturday (Tomorrow), August 29 @ 9 AM. 410 Stillwater Ave. Bangor.

Good Afternoon/Evening. Not too bad a day in the weather department. Chance of some late day thunderstorms then a perfect day on Saturday. (for our Blessing Bag day assembly)

Today was just making sure inventory was ok for tomorrow. Making sure that basic supplies were in place with a few back ups on hand. Then we had last minute orders to put away so floor space was organized for tomorrow morning.

Donations this week included some sweatpants and many pairs of Boxer Briefs for men. Some came bagged already and this weekend we are getting the rest bagged. Thank you Villager!! Then we got quite a few pairs of children's jeans and socks from one of our Donations from Fedex. I boxed them up and took them down to Penquis.

Life is a double win.

PSA Saturday is BLESSING BAG day. Being held at MaineSpace 410 Stillwater Ave Bangor ME at 9:00 AM!

Good Evening. It was a pleasant day. It was weatherwise. Tomorrow is a mixed day and the weekend looks ok for Saturday and Sunday is questionable.

Today was the second day in a row for donations from FedEx. All sorts of goodies for both days. One day lots of items for the Warming Centers and both days had basic supplies plus food for our Blessing Bags. I was lucky to have Ken help me unload the boxes. Heavy, bulky items aren't easy for me right now with the treatment plan I am under.

Then it was time to make deliveries which I love to do, but we don't really have the time and we really don't have the proper vehicle for this. A van would be the answer but we make do with what we have (my car lol). We had some syrups for Devon's Kitchen (she does the canned food drive for our Blessing Bags sometimes. ) I then went to Penquis with a box of new children's clothing that we sorted out from FedEx. We have exchanged goods in the past also.

Tomorrow I will try to highlight some donations made in the last two days. Thank you for your patience.

Then it was off to start the early weekend pick up of CLYNK. Tomorrow I meet with our chief nurse who does CLYNK after her midnight shift is over. Today, I got to meet Winston and Roscoe. Roscoe is the one being held. He loves the sun. Loves being held. Loves pats and rubs. I think Roscoe just loves life. 🩷🩷🩷🐶🐶🩷🩷🩷

It's not that complicated....

Good Evening! A sunny but a bit muggy to start the morning out. Tonight there will be more humidity. Tomorrow, sunshine with moderate humidity.

Yesterday was our usual Tuesday pick ups for the agencies and the shelters. Blessing Bags, pop tarts and everything else you can imagine. Toilet paper, clothing, baby wipes (for when the folks need a wipe down) beverages etc.

Then donations galore for the last 2 days! My heart overflows. Creamer, coffee, canned pasta, small boxers, pop tarts, crackers/peanut butter, sneakers (3 pairs), cereal, vienna sausage, snacks and hand warmers. All items were/still needed. Thank you all.

PSA again, Blessing Bag assembly this Saturday, August 29th @ 9 AM at MaineSpace 410 Stillwater Ave. Please let us know if you can come and if you are bringing a friend, relative, co-worker, student. All are welcome, getting a headcount in advance lets us know how many workstations we can set up, and maybe even have a hygiene bag assembly also. But our food bags aka Blessing Bags are first and foremost.

As you know, we lost a great person yesterday, Dolly Parton passed away. The following has been shared countless times: and I am sharing it myself.

Good Evening! A wonderful day except that little sprinkle early afternoon. Humidity tonight will hit 100% and tomorrow morning will start out at 95%. Then drops down to mid 50% humidity. I guess WARM is better than SNOW! lol

Bright HOPE..

PSA.... Blessing Bag day is this Saturday! August 29th at 9 AM at MaineSpace 410 Stillwater Ave. Bangor.

Good Evening! A damp morning but a beautiful afternoon with some breeze. Tomorrow looks so/so with a chance of some rain during the day.

Today, I had to tackle all the boxes from Amazon. We had a donation of cash a few weeks ago and I waited for some sales to get winter hygiene supplies. We will at some point make up 1000 winter hygiene bags, maybe even this week if we get enough Villagers to donate time for Blessing Bags (aka food bags)

After all the sorting, I dropped off coffee, creamer and sugar to BAHS along with a size pair of 10 men sneakers for a guest that has a job that requires him to have a decent pair of sneakers. He was so happy when he saw them. The joy amazed me, because to me it was just a pair of sneakers. But to him he can work at his job in comfort and safety.

We got donations from Villagers over the weekend. Thank you very much.

I picked up CLYNK over the weekend and today. Every bag helps us give HOPE to our homeless via the Warming Centers on a cold Maine winter night.

Every day is a new beginning.

PSA please read all tonight.

Good Evening! A rather pleasant day. A tad humid the first part of the day but overall, a nice day. Tomorrow looks like a repeat of today. Saturday during the day looks nice but then rain moves in for the rest of the weekend.

I started this morning out with a drive through Bangor and some of its side streets. Watching some homeless emerge from their "sleeping quarters" and some headed back to them with breakfast in hand. We all know Bangor is in a serious situation with its homeless and this situation gets worse each and every day. The council and its committees are looking at different ways for housing etc for them but housing is not the bottom line answer. But I won't start on that tonight. ( I will include a couple of photos from my ride)

Bottom line is that the homeless need help now. Basic humanitarian help. Food, clothing, hygiene. Yes, they need housing, more importantly they need mental health care, but even more importantly than that they need basic humanitarian assistance now.

Hope for Homeless for almost the past 10 years has grown to accommodate the growing population of homeless people in the Bangor area. Not once has the numbers decreased. We have had to deal with COVID, inflation etc. Not once when the Shelters, City and organizations reached out to us have we said no.

We need help with the Blessing Bags and hygiene bags to keep feeding them and providing minimal hygiene efforts for them. Also assembly day for Blessing Bags is on August 29@9 AM.
