WHO WANTS TO WIN A BIKE???

It’s so great to be back with the students at Eddington and Holden schools where we held drawings to donate 2 boys and 2 girls bikes for each grade: 24 bikes and helmets in total. Thanks for the financial assistance from the Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation and to our members who generously donated to our fund-raising campaign for this great program.

Even with pandemic restrictions, the desire to give to others was able to figure a way to happen. This year's donation of 250 dolls, blankets, pillows and cradles, as well as wooden cars and trucks to those children in need was still able to be fulfilled. The generosity and hard work of so many should be widely celebrated but are simply rewarded with some little smiles that say it all.
It takes a full year to prepare this holiday delivery and with 2021's batch already underway, it is open to all donations; dolls (new or used up to 17"), blankets (18"x18" minimum) or cash to help fill in those holes. Please contact Norma Leighton to make a donation. [email protected]

Here is a sample of some dolls and Randy and Norma surveying the multitude of doll bins and cradle samples.

A huge thank you to the Seminary Hill Daylight Lodge and the all the various ladies who pitched in to help. Your generosity to the dolls and cradle program by Randy Elliott for area children in need for Christmas brought many a smile and joy this season. One hundred and fifty were given out again this season. Each child received a hand made cradle filled with a doll, blanket and pillow. Thank you again for your support of children at Christmas. Volunteers for 2019 are already in need. Please consider be a part of this wonderful Christmas endeavor.

To all our members, families, and friends, we hope you had a warm and thankful day today. I got to see several members of our Lodge at the SUPER (and FREE!) Thanksgiving Day dinner hosted by our Brothers at Lynde Lodge in Hermon for their community as well as anyone who wished to attend. Offering superb and huge helpings, the Masons and their families who gave up their own Thanksgivings to serve others are to be highly commended. This program, started by our own member Audie Gould nine years ago, has grown to be SO special for many of us. Bro. Bud Chalmers was there today for his first time and seemed to really enjoy it. A great meal and a wonderful atmosphere of sharing and caring. Proud to be a part of this great organization and to have such wonderful 6th District neighboring lodges! Ed King, SW.

Brethren, a post has just been made to Bro. Jerry Leighton's page that he passed away this morning. More details will be available soon. As our Charter Master and the genesis for our lodge, his presence will always be felt but our loss is profound indeed. We know of his suffering for over a decade now and indeed, he is in a better place. That may give us all some comfort in our grief. Such a shame.... E.King

As summer arrives (OK, KNOCK OFF THE LAUGHTER BACK THERE!!!), we welcome those visiting our area. We meet during the daytime and welcome visitors and their guests. Great food, great friendship and you might even go home with a gift. We'll be getting together for lunch on Thursday, May 25th for lunch. No meeting. Just food, friendship and fellowship. Wear what you've got on. We'd love to show you our "conviviality and caring"!

A truly fabulous day at the community Thanksgiving Dinner at Lynde Masonic Lodge in Hermon, Maine. These Brothers, their ladies and their families along with a supporting group from other lodges all pitch in to make this a warm and inviting day for all who attend. Arriving just at the starting time of 11 and rolling out the front door at about 11:50, they’d already served 71 men, women and children including one cute little girl who turned 6 today. (We all sang happy birthday!) Such a wonderful gift to their neighbors! Takeout meals were available for those who weren’t able to stay also. Thank you SO much to Audie Gould and all those who made this possible. Now it’s off to naptime for this turkey and ham stuffed individual!

Walking in, Bro. Audie decided I should lead a prayer. Yikes! But while there, from Seminary Hill Daylight Lodge were the following: David Cuthbertson, Les & Sharon Gray, and Guy & Nancy Chapman, and Judy Brosmer. Ken & Gladys Swett and family (including one of my favorite DeMolays Matt Swett) were coming in just as I was walking out the door and as I turned the car towards home passed Steve & Priscilla Hoekstra who were waving. The first serving position, as seems traditional, was filled by our DDGM Russ Maynard.

Our lodge appreciates Audie Gould in SO many ways: this is just one!

A really great meeting yesterday with a presentation for all about the Titanic. Bro. Charlie Weeks provided interesting facts and figures about this remarkable ship. If you weren't there, you sure missed out on yet another super lodge event.
