Friends of Maine Public Lands

Friends of Maine Public Lands Maine Public Lands encompass 600,000 acres of woods, waters and mountains in Maine.

Friends of Maine Public Lands is an association of people who care about and appreciate the many benefits provided by Maine's 600,000 acres of public forests managed by the Maine Bureau of Public Lands. For over three decades Maine Bureau of Public Lands has done an exemplary job administering timber, recreation, wildlife, biodiversity, soil-water protection, scenic and special places using sound,

planned approaches to sustainable forest management. These well managed public forests provide many valued benefits to the greater public across the State of Maine. Friends of Maine Public Lands is an informal group who appreciates these public lands, and the good stewardship carried out by Maine Bureau of Public Lands staff. "Friends" spontaneously grew from public interest in supporting the organizational and ecological integrity that sustains Maine's Public Lands. Friends of Maine Public Lands is a place to share stories and information, showcase photographs of our public lands, offer support and conversation about our public forests administered by the Maine Bureau of Public Lands .... Welcome.
