Bandera’s music community delivered big this year. At its annual Bandera Music Fest, held April 19, at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar, the Linda Wilder Musician Scholarship Fund announced it surpassed fundraising totals from the previous two years—an achievement powered by the generosity and spirit that define Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World.

In a rural county like Bandera, having 71 people come out just to hear a youth rock band play is a pretty big deal.
In April, The Bad Bombs, a youth rock band made up entirely of Bandera County students ages 12–16, put on a free concert at Bandera High School and drew a crowd of local supporters. It shows that people in Bandera County will support young musicians who are willing to work hard, take creative risks, and perform live.

Tonight, May 12, 2026, we celebrate four incredible Bandera High School seniors who will receive scholarships from the Linda Wilder Musician Scholarship Fund 501(c)(3).

Their dedication to music has shaped their high‑school journey, and now it’s helping launch their next chapter. This community — donors, sponsors, and everyone who supports the Bandera Music Fest — made these scholarships possible.

In the year 2026, the Charlie Robison Foundation has also started scholarships for Bandera youth and high school seniors. Although their scholarship criteria is different from the Linda Wilder Musician Scholarship Fund, we thought we’d share their information here as well.

Through a series of Charlie Robison Legacy Scholarships beginning in 2026, the foundation is committed to giving a hand up to other small-town kids with similarly narrow horizons.
