This was the post I didn’t want to make. It’s the last one of the summer. Once I hit Post, our 2026 camp season will officially be over. And what a season it was! We did all the camp things. We laughed harder than we’ve ever laughed. We explored every inch of camp we could reach. We made so many bracelets. We had the best lunches ever. We made new friends. The staff heard their names called thousands of times. We saw giant bugs and tiny toads. We were hot and dirty and tired…but we were happy. We learned we are capable of more than we thought. We learned we can do hard things (except maybe touch frogs). We learned that being surrounded by friends makes everything better. Camp gave us more than we ever could have imagined.

I’m already thinking about 2027, and I hope we’ll see all of you back. For our friends who have aged out, I'll be researching ideas for how to include you. In the meantime, thank you for all the wonderful memories. You will be missed!

At the Shiawassee Family YMCA, Rotary Soccer is where kids learn to play and learn to belong. From the first practice to the final whistle, young athletes discover what it means to be part of a team. Whether your child is new to the sport or ready to sharpen their skills, they'll find their place, and their people, on the field.
