Leveling up our village, one device at a time.
On Saturday, June 6th, the Baltimore MD Alumni Chapter of North Carolina A&T State University returned to Huber Memorial Church to host Tech Workshop Volume 2! Following our previous successful activation with the Champions of Faith Ministry, we locked arms with the church's BOLD Ministry to deliver high-impact, hands-on technical training tailored specifically for our community members and seniors aged 55+.
True community service meets our people exactly where they are. Our chapter volunteers sat down for personalized, one-on-one table coaching sessions to pull back the curtain on modern technology, troubleshooting real-world challenges including:
📱 Virtual Communication: Mastering Zoom interactive chat functions, private messaging etiquette, onscreen reactions, and microphone/video controls.
🛡️ Digital Armor: Identifying in-mail fraud, recognizing suspicious or malicious phishing links, and navigating mobile banking protocols securely from a technical perspective.
⚙️ Device Optimization: Handling regular app updates, mastering the basics of QR code scanning, executing email account recovery, and overhauling system profiles to transition compromised email accounts into secure laptop lock-screen authentication layouts.
Building technical confidence in our seniors ensures that the foundation of our village stays safely connected, securely banked, and fully empowered in an increasingly digital world.
Huge shoutout to the BOLD Ministry leadership team and every single Aggie volunteer who stepped up to serve with patience, expertise, and love!
