BDC Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Elisa Milan turned her grandmother's empanada recipe into a pop-up in winter 2016, and that pop-up into The Empanada Lady, a full restaurant and bar in the heart of Baltimore.

Rooted in her Afro-Latina heritage and Puerto Rican traditions, the menu even includes a Baltimore-inspired crab empanada.

The RFP begins a competitive developer-selection and community-planning process. The Sisson Street Drop-Off Center remains open, and the seven conditions established through the Sisson Street Task Force process must be met before the center can close or physical redevelopment can begin.

We have updated our Property Improvement Grants. There's a new Commercial Tenant Improvement Grant (CTIG) to help with interior upgrades, and we've reworked the Façade Improvement and Outdoor Spaces grants to make them easier to use. Plus, every program now offers larger awards.
